kpix 5's jessica flores is live near the scene. jessica. >> reporter: this is on washington street. police have cleared the scene. tharis back over after that deadly stabbing. but police are still searching for two people. involving in the stabbing. it happened about 11 p.m. last night. it started as a fight between four people, two victims and two other individuals that police are still looking for. one of the victims died after being stabbed. the other was taken to the hospital in critical condition. somebody ran into the safeway and alerted a security guard who ran out, got t aid kit and tried to save the man. now, police have not released the identity of either individual. >> we don't have a motive right now. this is an active investigation. we have very little information as to what actually caused the incident. we have interviewed some witnesses. >> reporter: there are surveillance cameras in the parking lot. police are trying to piece it all together. they do say that this doesn't appear to be a robbery or anything like that, but they believe these individuals were fighting o

jessica flores live in oakland. jessica. >>> reporter: anne that legal and medical battle started right here at oakland at children's hospital. this is where jahi mcmath was declared brain-dead in 2013. her body was then taken to new jersey and she received care there. despite doctors saying that she was legally dead, her mother believed that she was alive and actually got permission to take jahi to new jersey and get treatment there. and that's where she was declared dead. jahi's mother said she died after internal bleeding from an operation. in 2013, jahi was declared brain-dead after having complications in surgery to remove her tonsils here in oakland. her mother believed jahi was still alive and moved her to new jersey because the state allows keeping someone on life support for religious reasons. her mother said she saw signs of life in her daughter. she released video of her daughter moving her fingers and toes four years ago. >> so i said okay, move your thumb if you can hear me. she moved her thumb again. s

jessica flores reports. >>> reporter: good morning, michelle. coyote creek runs through los lagos golf course and we are in front of the course right now where the fires popped up. authorities believe somebody deliberately set those fires yesterday. it started around 4 p.m. near capitol expressway and tours. that was the first fire reported. a second fire was sparked not too far away. in all, there are at least four fires in the area. los lagos golf course turned on the sprinklers to help put out flames. the fires are suspicious not only because of the timing but also because of the wind direction. >> the wind is blowing the opposite direction toward capitol expressway so if you had embers in the air, would you have fires in that direction, not here. >> reporter: police and investigators are looking into it. no injuries. police say there were homeless encampments along the creek and they were able to save some of those homeless encampments and also no homes or property was damaged in the area. in san jose, i'm jessica flores, kpix 5. >>> supreme

jessica flores reports from union city. >> reporter: good morning, michelle. this is a tragic night last night. it happened around 7 p.m. we are in front of chapel of the chimes here and this is where there was a funeral service under way. now, the shooting happened in front of the main mortuary and that forced mourners to go into lockdown as police looked for a suspect. now, it all happened around 7 p.m. it happened just as the funeral service was under way and several witnesses called 911 reporting the gunfire. police responded to find three people with gunshots wounds. those victims were taken to the hospital. then a short time later they found another victim who was away from the scene. that victim also had been shot and was taken to the hospital. police say the local hospital called them reporting a fifth victim who had self- transported to the hospital after the shooting. now, police are trying to figure out who opened fire at the cemetery. we spoke to one woman who says it all happened during her mother's funeral. >> the funeral director told us to stay
