just a short time ago, we were on the north side of the fort mchenry tunnel. and we saw what was described as the bus driver, walking out of border number 3, under his own power. and receiving assistance from firefighters nearby, apparently for what is believed to be minor smoke inhalation. what is going on right now is they have allowed some people to return inside of the fort mchenry tunnel to retrieve their cars. and what you're looking at is an evacuation of motor vehicles. and that's what you see occurring here now. there are no reports of injury at this point. we know it is a bus. we don't know what type of bus. whether it's municipal bus or motor coach. caught fire inside of border number 3. heavy smoke conditions were there for sometime. we have at least one or two smoke inhalation patients. and at this point, the cause is not known. transportation authority police have completely closed the northbound fort mchenry tunnel. we'll stay here and keep you updated. >> thank you, captain mike perry, reporting live. let's continue this breaking news. sharon g

we are south of fort mechanic henry.veryone started coming out of evacuated their vehicles on the south side of the tunnel. we have heard fire apparently are trying to gain access. at this point, we note that there are two people that just passed firefighters that were inbound. reporting that possibly two people suffering from smoke inhalation, working their way towards the direction they're shooting from. fire personnel have still not reached the bus, as you can see, the heavy, thick, deps black smoke still continues to come out. fire officials are gaining access or trying to gain access to this bus from the side. they have not closed. and we still continue to gather information. but what we know, just to recap, that a bus, allegedly is on fire, inside the fort mchenry tunnel. it's believed to be a good distance or significant distance inside. because you don't see smoke coming out of the tube. it's coming out of the smoke system. at this point, we have two minor injuries. and still trying to determine the cause of this
