i'm frances rivera. breaking overnight, at least 3 people are dead did and two others in critical condition after a small plane crashed into homes in river side, california. authorities say the plane went down a half mile away from a local airport and its fuel tank was still full when it crashed. five people were on board the plane. officials say two adult women survived the crash and were rushed to hospitals. one of the victims told fire fighters they were returning home after a cheer leading conference in anaheim. and here is surveillance footage from a home nearby. you can see the plane coming in from above and then exploding on impact. an absolutely horrifying cite. river side is 60 miles east of los angeles. the plane was flying to san jose. fire fighters are now working to control the fires caused by the crash. they say two homes were completely destroyed and adjacent ones damaged. officials say no residents were at home at the time but they are still searching for any other possible victims. the n

frances, thanks very much. let's head to santa cruz county where the storm has a lot of people very earned concerned. a flood advisory is in effect there. lonnie rivera joins us from felton. lonnie. >> reporter: cheryl, i'm standing underneath the felton covered bridge and below us here you can see the river. this is the san lorenzo river, you can see the current is pretty strong, quite a bit of erosion, no flooding yet. now, since today is a holiday many families just came out to take a look at the river's water level. the found of felton has a rich history by having one of the oldest covered bridges in the country. in 1982 storms it damaged the history landmark, five years later it was restored. locals remember that storm, one man came out to have a look and he is willing to offer friends a place to stay if there's flooding. >> it kind of keeps me in tune with what, you know -- what people are encountering right now and stuff and i've got friends that live by the river and if it were up a lot higher than this i'd call them up and say, hey, do you need help or anything like that. >> reporter: farther upstream the current knocked down some trees and
