monte francis is there to explain for us. hello, monty? >> good evening. the delays were just moderate for a sunday. the big test will come tomorrow during the morning commute. the traffic is flowing smoothly here near the toll plaza. it's important to note this three-month project is expected to mostly affect westbound traffic approaching the richmond san rafael bridge. caltrans shifted the lanes east of the toll plaza across the median to the eastbound bridge approach. now, that has created an s curve, a term we have all become familiar with thanks to the bay bridge. but this s curve is just before you reach the toll plaza. drivers should get ready for delays. but the agency is hoping to finish the work ahead of the three-month time frame. >> we have confidence that our contractor, myers and sons construction, is going to complete this earlier than the 90 days. and we're going to get -- then we will be able to reopen to traffic. >> caltrans also shut down the western drive on-ramp on eastbound 580. it will remain closed for the next three months as crews
