tom: nsit has a giant property off of 270 in gaithersburg. in the distance, that is the billing, building 236 where the explosion happened saturday night. it is called the special projects building. the nsit is part of the u.s. department of commerce, part of a huge property off of 270. this explosion that happened saturday night happened right around 7:00. they confirmed they are investigating whether chemical used to make drugs were involved in what happened saturday night. nsit says there was a member of a security force who was nearby when the explosion happened. he was taken to a trauma center with a life-threatening injuries and later released. the police said they took evidence from building 236 as they investigated. at this point, nobody has been arrested, but the investigation continues here on federal property in gaithersburg. tom roussey, abc 7 news. leon: breaking right now, homicide investigation and oxon hill. a man was shot to death in the 700 block of lowery avenue. no arrests have been made. stay with us and we will have the
