garrett tenney has the latest. we begin in washington with our coverage. garrett, do we know why sessions has decided to testify? reporter: well, julie, you remember a lot of the big questions during james comey's testimony on thursday, think resolved on -- revolved around his one-on-one meeting with the president where he was allegedly asked to drop the fbi investigation into michael flynn and comey also asked why it is he never told anyone about that request, according to comey, jeff sessions played a big role in both. the former fbi director testified that sessions left him alone with the president in the oval office at the president's request and then did nothing when comey later raised his concerns about those kinds of meetings being inappropriate. as for why he didn't tell sessions about the president's request to drop the investigation? comey raised a lot of eyebrows during his hearing with this answer. >> our judgment as i recall was that he was very close to and inevitably going to recuse himself for a variety of reasons. we also were aware of the

garrett tenney is live outside the hospital with the very latest. hi, garrett. >> reporter: yeah, julie. law enforcement officials are really emphasizing that it is too early to draw any conclusions about this list of names that was found on james hodgkinson. we have learned that list includes both the names and office room numbers of six republican congressmen. investigators are now working to try and figure out exactly what this list was for and if hodgkinson was trying to visit the congressmen in their offices or if he was trying to interact with them in some other way. the six congressmen on the list are scott desjarlais, trent franks, jeff duncan, jim jordan, mo brooks and morgan griffith of virginia. all six are associated with the conservative house freedom caucus and two were at the baseball field for practice the morning of the shooting. following that shooting republican congresswoman claudia tenney received a an e-mail threat suggesting more republicans would be targeted. here's her reaction from earlier today on report that hodgkinson had

[gunfire] melissa: garrett tenney in alexandria, virginia, with the latest on this, garrett. reporter: melissa, fbi investigators are here on the scene, we're going through what we're told 50 to 60 gunshots fired at baseball field this morning. it is really remarkable no one other than the shooter was killed in this event. this is extremely residential -- melissa: all right. we lost garrett there. obviously we had a problem with that signal. we'll go back to him when we can. here is congressman barry louder milk from georgia. he was on the field during the shooting. i have to ask you, we just saw that new video, and just, it's staggering the number of shots, you how rapidly one fired another. i know you were on the at the time. what was it like? >> it was regular practice. 7:15 i was standing by home plate, getting ready to back, when i heard the shot. i quickly identified as gunshot. there are there residences around there. that came to the third base side. i look the to my right, security detail of representative scalise, that is rawls there, their body detail. i figured th

garrett tenney with more. what are we learning?tional airport is beginning to return to normal operations. we're learning more about the alleged attacker. amore ftouhi. the past hour, the fbi said the 49-year-old was not on the radar of u.s. or canadian law enforcements agencies. we know he crossed the border friday and arrived in michigan this past sunday. at some point in between, we're told he attempted to buy a gun but was denied. he did purchase that 12-inch hunting knife that he used in this attack. investigators have not determined why ftouhi targeted the flint international airport. they had no indication that he knew anybody in flint or in michigan as a whole. we do know that canadian authorities conducted a raid at his home in montreal. the fbi said this afternoon that they're still waiting to find out what evidence they found. the fbi is stressing, neil, this is an ongoing investigation and they say they have a lot of evidence to go through as they work to determine the motives behind the attack and to ensure that nobody

garrett tenney is live from washington with more. hey, garrett. >> reporter: yeah.cconnell certainly has his work cut out for him. in addition to the five republicans who have said they can't support the current bill, he has a number of others who haven't decided, and a big issue for a number of senators is cuts to funding for medicaid. and on cbs's face the nation, louisiana's bill cassidy said if changes respect made, he's a no as well. -- aren't made, he's a no as well. >> right now i am undecided. there are things in this bill which adversely effect my state that are peculiar to my state. but if those can be addressed, i will. if they can't be addressed, i won't. >> reporter: one of the most outspoken critics is kentucky's rand paul. like several others who plan to vote no without changes, paul argues the current plan doesn't do what republicans have been promising, to actually repeal obamacare and address the underlying problems in the health care system. here he is today on abc's this week. >> they say they're going to fix health care, premiums are going to go

garrett tenney is live on the scene there. what can you tell us? >> it is still very much an active investigation going on. they just moved us back from the edge of the outfield of the baseball field. this was almost four hours ago. they were doing hitting practice when some man began to shoot from the third base line outside the fence. the congressmen where they are on the baseball field. there are about 15 people in the dog park next door and are people at the ymca. this is very much a residential area where all of this was playing out. police are still piecing together exactly what happened. we are told that this lasted fo. police were on the scene within 3 minutes. capitol hill police were here as part of security detail for steve scalise. they engaged in a gun battle with this gunmen who eventually took him down. we have spoken to people here, it is a scary scene, especially for the people who were out walking their dogs. one man described what he heard as he was lying there hearing the gunfire exchanged. >> i couldn't hear the gunmen, i heard

gater tenny is tracking the -- garrett tenney is live from washington d.c.d afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon to you. there is a lot of wheeling and dealing going on this weekend here in d.c. both senate leadership and the white house are talking to lawmakers to see what changes they can make to the gop's health care bill to get republicans onboard. they hold 52 seats, so they can only afford to lose two of their own, and right now five have said they cannot support the bill as it's currently written. yesterday nevada's dean heller became the latest republican to say no, and he had some heavy criticisms of the bill. >> i'm telling you right now, i cannot support a piece of legislation that takes insurance away from tens of millions of americans and hundreds of thousands of nevada mans. and lastly, the goal of health care reform should be to -- [inaudible] here in nevada, and i'm not confident, not confident that it will achieve that goal. >> reporter: the four other senators or who are also currently a no vote are ted cruz, mike lee, ron johnson and ran
