ktvu's gasia mikaelian joins us with more on today's developments. >> reporter: we reported the arrests yesterday. police say two men were taken into custody over the weekend and booked. today they faced a judge. shelton mcdaniels and jerry harbin, 29 years old, were charged today with murder. the complaint shows shelton mcdaniels and jerry harbin have long criminal histories. both are held without bail. the charges stem from a gun fight last week. investigators say chyemil pierce was struck by a stray bullet as she tried to shield her children. police say the story struck a cord and prompted the community to come forward with information. >> we have a woman doing what she was supposed to do. an innocent mother attempting to shelter her children from violence. danger. it has to hit a cord with you. you feel inclined to bring information. >> reporter: another man 19- year-old anthony sims was arrested a week ago in connection with this case. he was wounded in the shooting. police say he admitted to being involved. anthony sims has been charged with murder. and a woman taken into custody
