i'm gasia mikaelian. we have developing news out of san anselmo. pg&e crews have just capped a gats leak. the line was hit by a third- party contractor at 9:00 on kensington court. skyfox was overhead. traffic had to be diverted this morning but roads are now reopened. neighborhoods are without gas. bizarre standoff in san jose is now over after police were able to coax a man down from a 90- foot tall crane. he had been holed up inside the working box for about 14 hours. he finally climbed counsel at about 10:00 -- climbed down by 10:00 this morning. he was taken away by paramedics to be shutdown. the crane's power was shut down during the whole ordeal. >> he's despondent. at times incoherent. his sobriety is in question. that's what we know at this point. >> the man's been identified as 39-year-old alam scandar. police say he appears to be a transient. he's expected to be booked on suspicion of trespassing. the united states supreme court could rule this week on same- sex marriage. high court is set to rule on two cases dealing with the 14th amend

i'm gasia mikaelian. an investigation is now underway into a three-alarm fire that gutted a home and damaged two others. this happened on plymouth avenue near holloway avenue in the engelside neighborhood. noelle walker is live at the scene. >> reporter: the fire was reported just before 9:00. the roads are still blocked off. you can see why. those fire hoses are still snaking across the street. firefighters are still down there mopping you, checking for hot spots and trying to figure out just how this fire started. everyone made it out of the home and the neighboring homes okay. that's the good news. the bad news, this was a challenge for firefighters. they had a difficult time getting access to the flames. there were four or five pit bulls we were told in the backyard. they had move the dogs first and then they encountered a garage that was full of materials, full of stuff. so they had to go in another way to attack the flames. this went to three alarms because when the fire was first reported, those in

i'm gasia mikaelian. >>> we learned new information about two shootings near highway 4 antioch the first happened saturday. the most recent last night. claudine wong is in the newsroom and joins us with with the latest. >> today, the sheriff's office announced the two shootings are gang relate and they believe they are -- related and they believe they are linked. the most recent happened on highway 4 and women low pass road in baypoint. a 26-year-old man and a 19-year- old woman were in a white car when someone fired multiple shots at them. one of them was able to drive the car to john muir hospital in concord. the woman died at the hospital. but the man survived. investigators now believe that shooting is linked to the deadly shooting saturday afternoon. that claimed the life of 20- year-old toms mendez of pittsburg. he was shot and killed while drive ing along highway 4 near bailey road. >> what concerns me most our local gang members have no fear and no worry about going out and doing this type of thing. i want to make sure the citizens are safe when they are driving up and down the r

i'm gasia mikaelian. right now, firefighters trying to save markleeville as the fire grows closer. the washington fire has already burned more than 16,000 acres. there is 0% containment. the fire is burning in alpine county. already some of the town's roads are closed and nearby campgrounds have been evacuated. fire is being bushed by strong winds. it's threatening five homes and 15 historic cabins. >> it's scary. it really is. you can smell the smoke. >> i've seen how long they can last year. it's pretty scary to see it this early especially. >> it brings back memories of the fire south shore, 10, 12 years ago. those things scare us. >> and i an lay -- an alert has gone out to residents. the fire was started by lightning. the markleeville fire is one of six major wildfires burning around the state. more than 4,000 firefighters are on the front lines battling those fires. as the first week of summers begin, they expect this year's summer season will only get worse. >> activity has really skyrocketed this past week. we responded to in the past seven days, nearly 75 new wildfires. it
