underneath these balloons, one of gina's missing signs from years ago. we spoke to gina's aunt.ra ruiz and said gina is in good spirits that she's still readjusting to this new reality. and we're hearing that there's been such a big outpouring of support for the -- from the community for these victims that now police are asking for all letters, anything to come to them, rather than these families. they're just asking to give them the privacy they need right now. >> you know what? i got a little confused earlier, because i spent a lot of hours at that home and one of the interesting things that you can see on your live shot is that blue tarp that they put up on the side of the house. that is so that gina can go outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. enjoy being outside without all of the glare of the cameras. it's really nice to see that that's still up for her. that's a special moment. let's talk about castro's dna testing that is happening right now. they're trying to see if his dna may be linked to other crimes or missing persons cases. how soon could we see the results of the dna

this is where gina dejesus went to school. take a look around.it look like a lovely place for your child to go to school. on that date, april 2, 2004, something dreadful happened. gina who a special education student decided she would walk home from school. she left the school never to arrive home. and in broad daylight it looks perfectly safe. this is where it happened. 2207 seymour street. you go see the f.b.i. is sill processing the houses where the three women and the young child apparently have been for many, many years. neighbors give all sorts of different stories. they describe the man, castro, as an ordinary guy. story we hear from everybody is how surprised they were. they never in their wildest dreams believed that those three women would be held captive in that particular house. >> greta: on the record the investigation of the missing girls now women from almost the beginning. after 14-year-old gina dejesus vanished in 2004 we spoke with her cousin and cleveland police. >> what can you tell me about the investigation so far? >> so far

gina dejesus.s the last to see gina. >> my mom said no, i can't go over to her house. and so i told her i couldn't. and she said well, okay, i'll talk to you later. >> reporter: investigators are now scrambling to piece together every detail of castro's life. some neighbors say he was intensely private. they say he always kept the shades drawn and used a tarp to cover his backyard. perhaps this was a clue that castro had a darker side. in 2004, police came to his house after castro, who worked as a school bus driver, was accused of leaving a student on the bus and cursing at the student. no one opened the door and castro was later suspended. the first of several suspensions that ultimately end up with his firing in 2012. raising the question, did authorities miss key opportunities to rescue the women? if he did it, family members speculate what it would have taken. his uncle, julio castro, spoke to our colleague alex perez. >> apparently he was living two personalities. the personality that was dea
