he's in intensive care at this hour and abc's gio benitez reports from the hospital tonight. >> reporter: the middle of the night crash sent shockwaves through the entertainment world. >> i'm scared, but i'm also excited! >> reporter: 45-year-old comedian tracy morgan, best known for that starring role on 30 rock, now in critical condition with head injuries. he and six others riding in a mercedes sprinter limo bus that ended up in a six-car pileup, killing one of morgan's friends, comedy writer james mcnair. tonight abc news learning a truck may have caused the accident and rear-ended morgan's limo. police sources say the truck driver may have dosed off and failed to see the slow-moving traffic ahead. the truck swerved to avoid the limo bus but ended up slamming into it. morgan's limo then lost control, spinning into two other vehicles before landing onto its left side. the truck driver identified as kevin roper from georgia. he's charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. if it is a case of fatigued driving, the toll on the nation's highways has been st

abc's gio benitez is following the story. gio? >> reporter: as you said, morgan is in critical condition right now. the accident happened on the new jersey turnpike, a stretch of road often considered one of the most dangerous roads in the northeast. and this morning, an official tells us, a truck may have caused the accident and rear-ended a limo. comedian, actor, author, tracy morgan was involved in a serious car accident overnight. traveling back from delaware, after the launch of his standup tour, turn up sunny, morgan was reportedly involved in a six-car pileup near cranbury, new jersey. just five hours ago, comedy central comedian ardie fuqua saying, quote, this is what it looks like from the stage to see a standing ovation from 1,500 people. then, we traveled back to nyc in style in a luxury mercedes sprinter. road life is a good life. #tracymorgan. preliminary information is comedian tracy morgan is one of those injured in the accident. he is in intensive care. the hospital tells us morgan is listed in critical condition.

gio benitez with the safety concerns tonight. >> reporter: 11-year-old a.j. ruder and 12-year-old madison kelsay were playing at a colorado park. we've all seen what happened next. >> two seconds i was in the bouncy house and then flew out. >> little aj was stuck inside. >> i was thrown around a lot and by the time i hit the ground, i pretty much blacked out. >> reporter: incredibly the children only had minor injuries. the parents feared the worst. >> he was emotionless and expressionless. his eyes were opened but in shock. >> reporter: the company tells abc news it feels terrible. it was properly staked to the ground but the wind gusts came out of nowhere. believe it or not, bounce house accidents are common. a 2010 study found 30 kids were being rushed to the er with bounce house injury. it's important to use stakes like this to secure these rides and in high winds, nobody should be in there. this 6-year-old boy was in the hospital for eight days after an upstate new york bounce house went flying. >> we have a long road ahead of us but he's doing okay. >>

here's abc's gio benitez. >> reporter: the last time we saw 15-year-old yahye abdi he was jumping outwaiian airlines jet. he stowed away from california to hawaii. now for the first time he's telling his story in an interview with cbs station kpix, the teenager describing that harrowing trip, looking down at the efrth from the sky. >> i was above the clouds. i could see through the little holes. >> reporter: covering his ears as the plane took off, crouched in that tiny space, our own ryan owens showing us how small. while it's certainly possible to climb this gear, once you get to the top, there's really no place for a human to be. it's not like the airlines make a lot of extra room for these wheels. it's tight in there. it was a grueling five and a half hour flight, temperatures dropping to at least 50 degrees below zero. at 38,000 feet, hardly any oxygen. >> the human body apparently has the ability to shut down in cold temperatures. >> essentially in those conditions his body went into high better nation? >> there's no other reasonable explanation than a form of hibernation. >> re
