glassboro 70.e typically we will get gusts around 60 maybe 65 miles per hour from severe thunderstorms around here. so, no surprise that these gusts in glassboro king of prussia and long each beach island of 70 or better brought down so many trees and did so much damage. wilmington a 67 miles per hour gust and just within the last hour or so the national weather service bumped up the top gust at philadelphia international airport last flight to 72 and that is number four all time on the wind gust list. the top gust 94 a little before my time in the mid-50's. i'm kind of glad i missed it frankly. we have a lot of sunshine on the way with the storms off the coast. it is going to be a more comfortable day although still warm and you'll probably still want cool drinks. 70 degrees by 8 o'clock, 78 by 11 o'clock and 84 by would clock with that late afternoon high of 86 probably hitting around 3:30 or 4:00 this afternoon. high temperatures only 83 in allentown after spending yesterday in the low 90's. 85

now another storm moving towards glassboro in gloucester county.this one around upper pittsgrove is pretty strong and has heavy rain with it. at this point, also traveling to the northeast around 20 to 30 miles an hour. glassboro, you can expect the strongest part of the storm by 4:27. washington township 4:35. pine hill, 4:44. waterford by about 4:53. now, with the storms we had earlier today, earlier this afternoon, very heavy rain we now have a flash flood watch for all the lehigh valley upper chester, montgomery and bucks counties until 3:00 in the morning. we have potential for more heavy rain which could lead to localized flooding. the flash flood warning is for parts of berks, lehigh northampton counties until 7:00 p.m. in these areas we have gotten reports of a lot of flooding. for most of the area we are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8:00 this evening. for the rest of this afternoon and evening, we could still see storms bringing winds near 60 miles an hour, lightning, heavy rain and hail. a closer look at the timing of it. this

some storms moving towards glassboro and other parts of new jersey. can see this area of moderate rain moving through let's say the southern half of philadelphia. the northern half, north of the turnpike. there really isn't a whole lot. there is a little bit coming in through northern chester county that will affect part of the area, but the hour by hour, look at the temperature contrast from north to south as we go through this. you can see not much going on during much of the morning and then it will regenerate this afternoon. temperatures ranging from the 60s to the 80s across the area. you can see in between there's a stalled front. showers and storms redevelop. they move across the same area. that leads to flood threats. some computer models suggesting well over a couple inches of rain as we go through the afternoon and into tonight and then tomorrow morning. it is going to be quite an active period after one of the driest mays on record and the second warmest may ever recorded in philadelphia. i'll be back with the seven day in just a couple of
