these women are very conservative and on the gop in lots of ways. a case in point that illustrates this. i interviewed katrina pearson, if that is a name that sounds familiar she is donald trump's -- you see a lot in tv these days but the tea party in texas, that was her first foray into tea party politics and she felt the decentralized nature of the tea party held greater appeal than the republican party. she said to me social media was crucial to this as well, saying, quote, women can't be overlooked by this platform in the tea party. it used to be men in the gop, male leaders took a woman's idea as their own. i had this experience. with social media women can define their own brand and define themselves and have ideas heard. you don't have to go through this club any longer and that his been huge for women. other women were highly critical of the republican party point to the very negative treatment, michelle bachmann endured when running for higher office as evidence the gop has not been very welcoming, and others simply complain the republican

how is the gop party doing ahead of the convention?s is my 12th convention and i've been involved in management of the convention since 1996. i've seen conventions that have had lots of money, in minneapolis for example we turned over $3 million back to the city for the good of the city. i've seen cities that haven't had as much money, san diego, for example, had some difficulty toward the end. but you know what, at the end of the day it's about the presidential acceptance speech because that's where you get the bump. that's where people are watching. they understand donald trump, they're going to see donald trump can be president of the united states. that's what the convention is about. >> if he doesn't get that private sector support now, and let's say donald trump becomes the president of the united states come january, how is that relationship going to work with the private sector and the government? >> well, he has private sector support. let me point out to you, if you look at the fund-raising with the rnc and the trump campaign
