we are watching our streams and creeks in this area, especially green valley creek and santa rosa creek because we had issues overnight where they did overflow their banks. we are seeing that water slowly receded but we have more showers on the way. here is live doppler seven. scattered light showers out there but we are watching this line. we are seeing it energize more, downpours pickup. this line, when it moves through will bring about a renewed threat for areas of new flooding.a wind advisory is in n our hills. 30 in the city, 31 in sfo, 29 and a santa rosa and nevada. it is windy out there. future weather come here is that line moving through and focusing on areas of red. that could create a new areas of flooding this morning. it will not take a lot of rain to create that issue. showers move through between 6:00 and 10:00 a.m., we will see half an inch to one inch of new rain coming our way. we will look at the seven day forecast which is wet in six minutes. jobina, we have a lot of issues from this storm. jobina: we will show some of that problem. this is niles canyon road, also k

including green valley, mark west, folding, willowbrook, wiggins and east washington.re likely seeing flooding if you live near these creeks and it will slowly subside as the morning goes on. for the entire region, what this means is that as the showers came through this morning everyone was fair game for areas of flooding because of where the downpours set up. there's a lot of wind ahead of the line, gusting 35 to 45 miles per hour in spots right now. in the hills it's a similar story. the wind is strongest on the coastline. on the exclusive abc 7 storm impact scale today, level three because of the elevated threat that is still with us for new flooding. when you see this line coming through impacting the wind with heavy downpours at 8:30 we still have downpours and even by 10:30 the worst of the wind will be over but we are still tracking showers. half an inch to an inch of rain. that much rain in a short amount of time bringing issues of flooding. reggie: take a look at this dramatic video from pacifica. tree is a cypress, it's 90 feet tall and it toppled over just

green and fertile area. and if you familiar with a train around riker, she's off this state stronghold at that point. you could see this valley with this river running for green, but the hills around they were very dry and buried. these are the very dusty hetty area, but you can see in the distance all these individual trees. so when you look at rocker, this is exactly what you're seeing as soon as green valley with these hills. i basically just went for and follow this line, looking for similar terrain. and you can see here it's very, very rough indeed. so i thought that was the likely location and then i started looking at what we feel background details like these trees on the road and comparing them to imagery that was visible from a line of sight. once i had a possible location, i missed it just to kind of see if i could generate a discussion around where this could have happened. and then several months later, that's when i started me i originally was going to come here until about revolution. but with a discussion of the post truth, well, they feel like accounts recognition now, and it's been a very peaceful and quiet

green valley near guerneville, west of santa rosa. that area, follow along with me. we have the river stage right here on the "y" axis and the dates and times right here on the bottom. the monitor stage for this creek is 58 feet, and the flood stage, just a little over 59 feet. we can see that right now, the current value that we have is at 61 feet, so that is about 2 feet over the flood stage. but yesterday it rose to about 3 feet above that flood stage at 62 feet. we are going to keep an eye on the rivers and creeks all around the bay area, as we get hit with more storms this week. look at this gorgeous beach out in the pacific right now. that's going to come our way on wednesday, and bring some heavy rain to the bay area. about 2 to 4 inches for wednesday on into thursday, with even more rain following behind that for the first weekend, first official week of 2023. our storm estimates right now, for wednesday on into thursday, look at how we just paint on that rain to california. we can see anywhere from 2 to 3 inches locally with

it's sonoma county this massive tree came down over green valley road closing it until cruise could remove it. i thought it was an earthquake at first mike embert from monte rio heard crashing overnight after a small grove of 90 foot bay trees toppled down this hillside now because of the saturation we're getting these slides with lots of trees and hillsides coming down. this time nobody was hurt. but mario fire chief steve backsman says with soil so saturated from heavy rains more trees will definitely fall. this is the after effect of all the rain we've had the ground is just spongy and all these trees are like you see they're just completely toppled over the root ball and all just came right up out of the ground. expect to see more of this. oh, we're having more every day. yeah. the nearby russian river is moving fast, but holding steady first responders say it's predicted to reach flood stage by sunday at 34 feet. it'll get about maybe this deep out here then. and we should be all right. get back here in fairf luckily. nobody was hurt in that mudslide. the fire department says another

portions of sonoma county that the creeks and the rivers are up there, especially mark west creek, green valley creek standard, rosa creek and laguna de santa rosa. so still we have a lots of water to attract, in fact, lots of creeks and rivers. in fact, all these blue lines represent all the creeks and the rivers here in the state. you can see so many were watching over the next step over the next several days. flood watch gets reissued to saturday morning right on through monday afternoon. so noticed this is not for tomorrow . we are expecting rain tomorrow, but the real rain is going to move in the heavier rain. i should say moves in over the weekend. this next system is so nice to have a break today here in the bay area, but there's another one coming on board, as you can see, with rainfall expectations about a quarter of an inch to possibly over two inches for the coastal hills of the north bay window. we do not have a wind advisory, but it will be windy gusts could be approaching 30, maybe 40 miles an hour. and just for tomorrow, the sierra picking up 6 to 12 inches, but a lot more snow i

the areas in red on this map just the flood watch is in green, active flooded areas where we saw peak flooding, continuing toward the tri- valley. this is just to the south of castlewood golf course west of 680, five feet above flood stage, not quite a record but still major flooding when you get levels that high. belmont creek at harbor boulevard. we will take you on to alameda creek, 15.52, the old record was 14.9, a lot of them structure out there between highway 84 having mudslides and some damage leading out and away from the east bay hills. the evacuations are felts, san lorenzo river, 22.15 putting it into the major flood status as the water rushes out of the santa cruz mountains and as of rain rates pick up late day, the creek is starting to rise getting close to the flood stage and around gilroy, also rising through minor flood stage. from here, what we will watching is to see the levels drop off a little bit. we are still seeing soaking rains around the bay area especially east of the peninsula out toward the tri- valley and san jose is the back edge of the slow moving storm that hit the brakes this morning now starts

greens and yellows. if you're along the east tri valley area down san ramon, dublin livermore, not much there in the wayr outages. but as you head out towards the shoreline, that's where we see things pick up. that's where the winds were the strongest. so this corridor, the upper east bay shoreline, emeryville, berkeley, albany, out towards richmond. we're looking at outages that total right around 7500. that's for the entire east bay. both cocoa county and alameda county. lastly, let's head over to the north bay where we're seeing the most severe outages in terms of trying to get them restored because they're in the roughest terrain. 23,500 customers still out in the north bay. a lot of that is in the mountainous areas where it's pretty difficult for pg e to get in there. what with the danger of continued trees falling and limbs coming down with this morning storm system. so we have to wait for that to subside before they can get out there and start really making some progress in getting the north bay restored best chances today. better chance tomorrow. we'll see what happens. we'll keep you updated. s

we're going to take you live towards the santa clara valley and look just how much our local foothills have greened up. in recent days. we have mostly cloudy skies there, so let's see where it's currently writing. this is our live doppler radar. we see most of precipitation to the north of the bay area. we do have some scattered hit miss showers. um mendocino county, also in clear lake in lake county, and then as we venture on down towards our northern portion of our district rain showers around their facts, miranda would and also, samra fell into larks berg just a hint, misguided shower around the east bay. right now, it's mostly cloudy all the way into the santa clara valley, as verified by our live weather camera, and then as we head to the santa cruz mountains, a much needed break and the activity but we have showers again lining the peninsula near daly city into south san francisco. more rain is in the offing. this is our future cast computer model will see through the evening hours. it's going to be okay. if you want to get out and about for your dinner plans, and here comes saturday morning

looking at the green highlighting hitting richmond over in the maze and the north bay. we're marking mill valley where our buddy bob redell is located. that rain came through on the sensors but what's your umbrella status over there? >> reporter: not needing it right now, we're definitely feeling a little bit of the wind. you can see by the sheen in the parking lot behind me we've had some rain but it's been a heavy drizzle at best. we are expecting this to get wetter as the morning goes on. we had that break in the rain that's when a lot of people took advantage of that dry spell. you had workers out clearing debris, removing downed trees. san carlos is a nonprofit gutted inside and out after those storms rushed in like rivers. one life counseling center served 250 low-income families who come there weekly for mental health services and free groceries, a program now put on hold until march as that center faces over $80,000 in losses and damages. >> we have the food here in storage. everything was flooded. >> people need mental health services desperately and food resources. prices and inflation

if you want to enjoy the green hills and all that has been revived because of the rain, under the sunshine napa valleyreat place to go this weekend. if your weekend plans take you to l.a., we have sunshine in the forecast and high temperatures in the low 60s there. of course, this weekend we have got the 49ers game happening at levi stadium. it's going to be nice, sunny, but cool. we are only going to be in the upper 50s but there's a light wind and no threat of rain this weekend. >>> mike, you are starting to see slowing in san josÉ. >> yeah, we have been following this. i was thinking maybe there's an incident going on, and there's nothing on caltrans or chp on northbound 101. it's possible this is a change in the pattern or at least maybe for this week after folks return after weeks of rain. we saw a heavy commute throughout 7:30 to the 9:30 and 10:00 hour, especially in the south bay, and so that may be the factor. i hope there are no incidents we have to worry about. we will see it smooth out over the next 20 minutes. we will track that through silicon valley. meanwhile, the rest of the bay shows

there's more rain on the wa and then i am noticing a lot more green on the map here, and that should help ease the morning commute. the tri-valleyt's going to be tough to get in from river more, tracie and 680. >>> one death has been confirmed that happened last night in rural sonoma county, and that's where a falling tree smashed into a home killing an infant. it happened on joy road. the baby's parents were uninjured, but obviously the incident weighed extremely heavy on first responders. >> anytime you have a situation like this, especially with a child, everybody's emotions are a lot higher. a lot of the firefighters went to give aid, and some of them were having distress about it. >> completely understandable. according to "the press democrat," the tree fell on to a double wide mobile home. this was only one of several downed trees in the neighborhood during the height of the storm. >>> 6:33. authorities in fairfield say weather caused a deadly crash early yesterday morning. an unidentified 19-year-old woman died when her car hydroplaned. the car then hit a utility pole. >>> downed trees have been a problem across the bay a

the santa clara valley, again, a lot of just sort of isolated pockets. those little dots in green across the entire south bay. they're only looking at about 2,400 customers without power in the east bay. as we slide up, you'll see the picture here. also getting better by the day. fewer outages out near walnut creek and up towards pleasant hill highway for out towards pittsburgh in antioch. the highest concentration of the east bay still is along the east bay shoreline, really from oakland, up towards richmond for the east bay. it's about 1500 people. customers without power right now. and then lastly, the north bay will slide there and show you what we're looking at up near rohnert park and santa rosa and then down along the coastline down towards marin county. that's where we're seeing most of the power outages. but again, a lot of it is coming back on line 6,500 customers and across the entire north bay without power. right now, words yesterday we were talking about 10's of thousands of customers without power. so progress being made. there will be more progress made today and h
