sources tell us they found hoffman unconscious on the bathroom floor of his apartment in new york's greenwich village with a needle in his arm and roughly 70 glassine pacts in the apartment. today, sources concerned say some of the pacts tested positive for heroin. several were labeled "ace of spades" or "ace of hearts." further tests will be conducted to determine will the heroin contained additives. investigators say they found syringes and five different prescription medications including muscle relaxers, blood pressure medication and a drug used by addicts to combat addiction. the 46-year-old actor admitted he was an addict by age 22 when he went into rehab. he spoke about in the a 2006 interview with steve kroft in "60 minutes". >> so this was drugs or alcohol or both? >> yeah, it was all -- it was all that stuff, yeah. anything i could get my hands on. enforcement sources about what else investigators found when they went into that fourth floor apartment in greenwich village. they found evidence that he had spent a lot of money on drugs and appears to have been a heavy user. we understand, according to our sources, that investigators found at least 50 small baggies filled with the substance that appears to be heroin. they are marked with labels that are associated with heroin brands on the street. they had various other white powders that have to be tested. at least 20 used syringes sitting in a cup in another room in the apartment and on top of that, a number of different prescription medications, none of which hoffmann apparently had a prescription for. sources tell us they found five different pills for which there was no prescription. various pills, something for adhd, anti-anxiety medication, a muscle relaxant. our sources say that friends and family members of hoffmann have been speaking to the police and they now tell investigators that he appeared to be high as recently as saturday night. to back up here, the last time he was seen was arou
