in michigan, incredibly democratic governor gretchen whitmer, an ally to us as we flip the state house red to blue, the state senate unfortunately isn't up. the entire state senate was up in 2018 but we have the opportunity to flip the michigan house. we gained five seats in the michigan house last election cycle and now we only need to flip four seats red to blue in order to flip michigan. we won't have a shot at the senate, so we have to win the house to give governor whitmer a lever of power in the legislature. we know that republicans gerrymandered these maps. voters, not politicians, passed a nonpartisan redistricting commission in michigan so it is certainly possible that is how redistricting will be done but scott walker's organization has fought hard and brought us into federal court to say that that initiative may not be eligible. republicans in the state legislature also have tried to do everything they can to take away the funding to build out this commission. so there has been a full assault on the independent commission. so we want to do everything we can to flip the state
