griff jenkins live in washington with what we can expect today. >> reporter: what we expect is the whiteouse's push on immigration. the president signed into law and jared kushner along with stephen miller yesterday for a lunch meeting briefing them on the broad outlines of a plan in the works for weeks. few details were available but we expect to address border security and asylum backed laws and the past illegal migration which will change the latest currently done. after the meeting lindsey graham told reporters, quote, i don't think it is designed to get democratic support as much as it is to unify the republican party around border security. graham is holding a press conference at 10:00 to unveil his own legislation to address the crisis at the border and we expect highlights of the plan to include addressing the much cited florez agreement that prevents officials from holding on 20 days, increasing it to 100 days and adding 500 immigration judges to wipe out the asylum backlog. that has 130,000 cases with an average wait time of 729 days. this comes as acting secretary of defense p
