gulf island national seashore is $66.6 million in need. all of these states have benefited from coast to coast, supersea to shining sea, from hawaii to maine and florida to alaska. those are the states that have benefited from the legislation covered by the great american outdoors act. in colorado alone the popularity of our outdoor recreation and public lands continues to grow. over the last five years visitation numbers and national parks has continued to increase. visitation in 2019 surpassed -- this is national park overall, surpassed 2018 visits by more than nine million visits. that's 327 million recreation visits across the country, over 1.4 billion recreation visitor hours. 13.8 million overnight stays. you know, that's 2019. 2020 of course is going to look a little bit different. some of our national parks aren't open yet. some of them are staged in their openings. rocky mountain national park is open but its reservations are reduced. the entries are reduced to accommodate the needs to protect people during this pandemic. so these

you can see that brown surge that goes over those caribbean islands and heads over across the atlantic into the gulfn see that saharan dust. now this actually happens every year. it cuts down on the tropical activity but it gives the sky this milky white appearance, and i certainly saw that when i lived in louisiana. looking at lake pontchartrain right there you can see the people that are out there looking at those milky white skies and so that's what they're going to see today as well as tomorrow. as we look at how it looks on satellite imagery, it's so large and the reason they're talking about that. so we're going to continue to monitor that for today for louisiana and texas as well as over the next couple of days. i posted some of those pictures on my social media. i'm @karihallweather. let's get to our forecast. we have an amazing sun rise this morning, and i love to see your sunrise pictures as well on my social media pages this is looking to clayton this morning. and it is so beautiful, all those colors in the sky, probably what they'll see in texas to make the sunrises and sunsets beautiful
