transportation plan, the housing of people here, even to this weekend -- i was working on the taxi hackathon, making sure that they are servicing all the different visitors we expect for the event. we are fully expecting the economics to be as great at it had been. >> could you follow up on those potential construction jobs at pier 30/32 that will be lost? >> i do not have all the details there. obviously, the immediate development of 30/32, there will not be those jobs there because we will not be developing. does that mean it is forever lost? i do not think so. those piers are very attractive to future development. we will have the discussions in the future. they are planning for this. it is not forever removed, but for this race, at this time, i believe it helps with going forward with consolidating everybody here and making sure the race is the primary focus and timeframe that we want to have to have a successful race. >> [inaudible] >> and the scope of the project at 30/32 was to repair -- refurbish those piers. i think the estimate was $30 million. what we have done here, a couple mill

this saturday, i get to participate in our cities first -- city's first hackathon to fix our taxis in the city. we are getting ready for america's cup. over the summer, our department of technology hosted hackathons and resulted in the creation of 23 apps in created over 10,000 hours of civic engagement. i want to present a challenge. we are a consent -- congested city. into the years, we will host america's cup, -- in two years, we will host america's cup, one of the largest events. over 500,000 people visit the city on any given day during that time. one of the complaints i hear the most is that people get their cars towed away when their part in the wrong place. it can cost $500 and leaves them with the worst taste in their mouth. they were here to celebrate something. i want to challenge you. find me a solution. let there be some hand-held device that can warn somebody that their car is about to be towed. we can save a lot people having disappointment in their lives. we will work on the data to release it. you can go at it and help us to resolve one of the biggest problems we have, that is sparking any towaway zone. can you help us to do that? entrepreneurial culture, it's very, very hard to do, and they're trying to codify it by having these hackathonsy to stay up all night and code and come up with new products like time line, like chat, and the valuation is supposed to be at $100 billion. >> in the sort of off market. >> which is going to be one of the biggest ipos of all time. >> i'm going to ask a very simplistic question versus google. yes, they have close to 1 billion users, but there will be the new facebook, by definition, a social media, and even to zuckerburg's point, he made this cool. so versus google where i don't see anybody catching up with the technology, i don't see this thing as bulletproof. >> no, what this has is community. when you've got the 830 million users, it's very sticky, very hard to disaggregate it. my question about facebook would be, look, google has an obvious advertising model. if you search for waterproof shoes and you get ads for waterproof shoes, you click on them. and the question is whether facebook can monetize these 830 million users in a way that makes a lot of money. >> and you saw yesterda
