it is not just an entrance hall. it is a town square of a city within a building and leads to sky lit indoor boulevards. when you come from fifth avenue on the right, today you have the circular information desk. you get your questions are answered. you get your map. you have coat check over there, museum store over here. up the stairs is the second floor. on the balcony sometimes they put tables around a balcony which is perfect because they're like tables in an outdoor cafe overlooking the central piazza of the metropolitan museum, the entrance hall. that entrance hall leads to magnificent sky lit boulevards, the one in the downtown direction was restored in the last 15 years with the dwreek and roman selection and looking south from the main hall back of us and looking towards a smaller piazza sky lit where we use to eat and dine and the cafeteria was there and restored 2 and put it back to its original use as a gallery for greek and roman art. it is a grand indoor boulevard taking us from the central piazza. if y

every day, staff would update and public meetings that are being held in city hall. from that way, everything beyond the initial link would be pre- programmed to open to specific language. the meetings for that day would be translated utilizing the software. the issue with doing this is the accuracy of the translations. you will get literal translations and not specific colloquial speech, i guess. land use might turn into a ground functions. these are things that have to be thought about. however, one will be able to get the gist, and will be able to find the locations and get the majority of the information to get where one wants to build. this is a way to get around the need for staff to constantly translate on a daily basis. this is what we would like to proceed with, and we think it will get us very close to where we want to be. and as google also-translate gets more accurate, we think this will progress further over time. supervisor chiu: i have a number of questions about the topic. are you familiar with how the ethnic press covered this ordinance in 2009 when

we all have our disagreements in city hall. there are times when the mayor and i agree on things and disagree. i know that is true with all of my colleagues. he always brings an incredibly positive and collaborative approach. even if you disagree, you can sit down and talk about it and try to work it out. his attitude toward the budget is not unique to the budget. the mayor brings that attitude toward every single thing that he does at city hall. it makes all of our lives a lot easier in terms of trying to get things done for the community. mayor lee. i situate the conklin hall commemoration within the tension between history and memory. memory operates on a number of registers. what do we choose to remember? what do we choose to forget? who is the we that is remembering or forgetting? and through the process of public commemoration, how has the narrative of the takeover been transformed? what was the role of the public in shaping the celebrations? i attempt to balance the claims of history and memory in my ongoing oral history project. it is too reductive to say that the history of the event is contradictory to its memory. unlike historians, i do not believe memory and history are opposed to one another. focusing on the tension between the official memory produced by the university's commemoration and the history of the takeover allow us to see the messiness and nuance of the liberation story. the narrative produced by rutgers excludes actual historical facts including the work of puerto rican students who organized and fought alongside the black organization of students for equality and access to education. while i
