. >> we sent investigator harry hairston. harry, what did you find out? >> reporter: we reached out to the state police department. they're not talking on camera about their protocol or chase policies but they do say they stand behind the actions of the troopers. state police tell us that the troopers involved in the resch hour chase that ended in thiz fire are crash performed their duties by the book. according to penndot, more than a thousand people were on this crowded stretch of 676 during the chase that involved the gun fight and ended with the suspect's car crashing into an empty school bus. we reached out to matt, a security specialist and retired federal law enforcement agent of the trooper's actions. should the state police have given chase? >> the state police were absolutely justified in giving chase. they had probable cause. there was a problem with the registration. the vehicle fled, he didn't stop, and they did exactly what they were trained to do. >> even on a busy crowded street at rush hour? >> when you initiate the traffic stop you don't

. >> harry hairston has been looking into these allegations, he joins us with the details now. what's this all about, harry? >> well, keith and jacqueline, we are talking about deer park water. officials at the company tells us it concerns jugs like this one found in offices, schools, and, hey, maybe even your home. american airline workers tell us these pictures tell part of their story. in a lawsuit against the airline, the workers claim they were told to put a toilet deodorant into used deer park water jugs. what is it you were actually doing? >> putting blue deodorant into a water bottle, which is owned by deer park, and bring it upstairs on boeing 757s to flush it and pour it into the toilet. >> reporter: he tells the nbc 10 investigators normally a hose connected to the bottom of the plane and the chemical is pumped from a tanker truck, but he says the intake devices on some 757s were broken, and management ordered workers to carry the chemical on to the planes using deer park jugs. he's concerned about his and others exposure to the chemical. how many bottles are you usin

harry hairston is following the story from our digital operations center. harry, what did jared fogle have to say? >> fogle sobbed openly in court during his apology but remained silent as he walked into court in indianapolis this morning. in august the one-time subway spokesperson pleaded guilty to child pornography and having sex with underaged prostitutes. today a judge sentenced him from 15 years to eight months in prison, that's more than the 12 years the prosecution had been asking for. now, fogle told the courtroom, "i so regret that i havex?[ le many of you down. i want to redeem my life. i want to become a good, decent person. i want to rebuild my life." fogle became a subway spokesman after shedding more than 200 pounds as a college student in part by eating the chain's sandwiches. subway ended its relationship with him after authorities raided his home in july. as part of his plea agreement, fogle agreed to pay his 14 victims $100,000 each in restitution. reporting live in the digital operations center, harry hairston, nbc 10 news. >> harry, than
