he is with the group protesting here in hayes valley with the hayes valley farm. and called desi gardens, they have renamed it. it's basically a protest against a company that wants to build 185-unit complex. this land was vacant. it used to be the fell underpass and the construction came down there. many of the community came in here and started building a community garden knowing that this land was going to be sold. then people became attached and others joined in. and members of the "occupy" movement have come in as well in recent weeks claiming what is now the desi gardens. they are saying they don't want to leave. they are against gentrification and construction in this area and have called this a cop-free zone. but as you can see, there are 100 police officers here. so far, conducting themselves very patiently and calmly. there have been three arrests earlier this morning and then seconds ago, two more protestors were arrested. one person fell out of a tree, not sure of injuries. a second was taken out. and construction crews are standing by prepared to bull

police forcefully evicting protestors from an urban farm in the hayes valley. officers used a cherrypicker to get that last protestor out of a tree. kpix 5's sue kwon is there live with more. >> reporter: you know, really dramatic few hours here. and as you mentioned, there were three protestors who would not leave. they were still up in the trees. the san francisco police department got people down and brought up cherry pickers and negotiated for up to 30 minutes and then they were in a position to actually get ahold of the man and pull them safely into the bucket. they then brought him down and arrested him along with two other people who would not leave the trees. one man fell from a tree but on to a box of cushions. the sergeant tells us that there were minor injuries involved. in all, there are about 40 people camped out here overnight. they knew the police were going to come in. the rest of the people left when told and there were 7 others on the street who were arrested for basically causing a commotion. now what we have here, live, are images of dpw com
