hayward a little pocket of rain as well as what we're seeing on the next. alicia out there right around the golden gate bridge, another spot of moderate to heavy shower activity is currently working its way on shore. san jose on up towards mount hamilton. you are looking at some heavier rain out that direction starting to calm in san jose, though, as i mentioned, the sierra nevada. it is not a good co up there this morning. we do have that dense heavy snowfall that is packing the roadways and that is resulting in a really slick conditions up there. chain controls are in effect and we are going to see that for much of the day today. so rainfall does push out between 06:00am to 07:00am for most areas. after which point we're actually tapping into a lot of sunshine for the bay area this afternoon. notice how snowfall does eventually taper off on into mid afternoon. but it's still going to be very wet and snow packed up there now as we move into the evening tonight, your christmas eve transitioning into christmas day with the return of rainfall and some heavy p

livermore, you're hanging on to that 50 degrees fairly hayward alameda san jose and san mateo at 49. well, our coldest spot on the map being petaluma at 41 so rain. it's still wet on the roads. what does that mean for commuters and means been pretty busy out there, john. as you're traveling from the east bay into the city. a little under 14 minutes. we had a hot spot. >> along the bay bridge in the earlier hours. that's been clear. so that's the good news. the san mateo bridge is check on that as you're heading across towards the peninsula. you see delays there because of delays along one o one. so about 60 minutes for your drive. we have some accidents out there. i need to tell you about this one in south san francisco southbound 2.80, south and west blvd. so we are seeing delays as you're traveling along the year in the south bay sonny bill southbound north of north. lawrence expressway, northbound 17 rent to 85 loss goggles. you do have an accident there. i'm showing you this because we do have a closure. this is along northbound highway 9 and southbound, between bear creek road h

finally in hayward and fremont. as you can see, the south bay is where the rain will arrive.amounts will be the lightest except the santa cruz mountains. that certainly will be nicely for tonight. it looks like flooding will not be an issue with this first wave going on because the intensity won't be high. that includes this car burned areas. so that's good news. there is another way that's coming from the lower latitudes. so that's kind of mild air. so that's pretty juicy. we're waiting by thursday for some cooler air to filter in here that will lower snow levels. but that could be more apparent up in tahoe. and by the way, they have a winter storm warning that will kick in. wednesday, thursday zone to take us through the holiday weekend. beyond that, there probably be more to add to it. so stay tuned for more winter weather storm warnings to come out. this is what it looks like from our vantage point as we go into christmas temperatures fall with that first system. i mentioned on thursday. it's quite chilly into early next week. note the lows. we may revisit some of the 30'
