hayworth, who is running for... against john mccain in the republican senate primary out in arizona, is in tucson this morning. bill richardson, who is our only hispanic governor, the governor of new mexico, is out in san francisco this morning. gentlemen, thank you. let's get right to it. last week, in the first hearing in a number of lawsuits that have been filed to overturn this new law in arizona, a phoenix police officer told a federal judge that he fears that if he stops someone for something and then has a reasonable suspicion that they might be illegal immigrants and asked them about it, he's afraid now he could be sued for racial profiling. but he also says he's afraid that if he doesn't ask them about it, as the law requires him to do, as i understand it, he can be sued by citizens for not enforcing the law. mr. hayworth, this just begs the question: aren't you worried that this law will make it harder to police immigration and make it more difficult for the police to carry out their duties? >> bob, not in

hayworth? >> we have problems in afghanistan because we have a commander in chief who really does not understand the situation. we need to change the rules of engagement. our troops -- when a sniper fires on the now, as the rules dictate, if that's like bird drops the rifle and tries to blend in with the crowd, our troops cannot fireback. our troops need rules of engagement where they can fight a war and win. secondly, we should define victory as the rectification -- as the eradication of the outcry debt and the taliban. those two conditions must be met -- the eradication of the al qaeda and the taliban. those two conditions must be met. >> congressman hayworth is misinformed or does not understand. the rules of engagement have been tweaked. obviously, i have great confidence in general petraeus that he will do whatever is necessary to protect the lives of our troops. he has had the experience. he is one of the great leaders. i want to say it again, this is long, hard, tough. we grieve at a los

a broad congressman hayworth in in 1994 -- they brought congressman hayworth in in 1994 and they kicked him out in 1996. we went from surpluses at the beginning of our republican majority to deficits because we let spending it out of control. i'm proud to have fought every day against that. >> i think it is great to see two big spenders talking about how they cut taxes. the government grew like 12 times during the senator's rein and 400% during the congressman's. that is not acceptable. we cannot afford that. we need growth in the private sector, not the government. they're from these different agencies that often only look at the title of a bill whether or not they determine it is good to be presented. the congressman received 100% rating on the bill where he voted to increase the national debt limit. that is not a good conservative value. >> let's move on to border security. is it possible to completely secure arizona's border with mexico? after all, all but 50 miles, i understand some of our border -- i understand, of our border, our offense. they have a record number of agents at th
