let me show you a look from sky 7 hd video. this hillside, what appears to be a multi-million dollar home with more than a view, it now has a problem. i spoke with the owner today. he did not have much to say in terms of details. the look on his face, the mud on his boots did that for him. more video from down below this morning of all the places to flood in tiburon, how about the town hall. this is the result of rainfall that just seemed to scald over the community last night. public works tells us a clogged drain contributed along with a flooded marsh, plus other factors. according to tyler boaten, who works at the department of public works, here's what happened. >> the tide was up at the time. we are below sea level so that's what happens when you have a town below sea level. it floods just like mill valley. it floods. nothing you can do about it. pump it out and get your guys out there, working hard. >> reporter: not just a little problem, a lot. let me give you another example of what's happening as the rain continues to

sky 7 hd captured that scene earlier this afternoon. a water saturated hill dumped mud and rocks on to the highway about 2:30 this morning. it took hours for cal trans crew to s to clear that just before 11:30 this morning. a downed tree caused big problems this afternoon. the tree also damaged power lines near sky high road about noon. that did not knock out power in the area. but it was a problem for drivers. police closed the road for about three hours while crews removed the tree. >>> a blanket of fog making it tough for some commuters to get to san francisco this morning. this was the scene along the embarcadero in san francisco this morning. it did not stop the ferries completely. boats did have to run a little slower. there were some cancellations and up to a 20-minute delay on some routes. >> the proverbial pea soup. >>> more than 140 million americans are expected to travel in the next few days. the most in more than a decade. nearly a third will fly. bay area airports expect big crowds of travelers. airlines suggest you arrive

meteorologist mike nicco is tracking the next wave with live doppler hd. >> good morning from the top of the broadcast center, i want to set up why we are in this predicament. look at rain percentage compared to normal. we are from 171 percent in santa rosa to 268 percent at moffett field in mountain view. most of this has been over the last two weeks. that is why the ground is saturated. we have better radar run in pittsburg with scattered sprinkles in the north bay and the east bay and the shoreline to the south bay. we are in that lull right now before our next storm comes in. you can see it to the west. it has a time of arrival for the afternoon to evening hours with light-to-moderate rain. here is the key, a weaker system, no thunderstorms, less wind and rainfall, minor chance of mud and rock slides and urban flooding and wind damage. it will not be a repeat of last night. we have another chance of rain in the seven-day forecast. >>> thank you. >> highway 84 in the east bay is back open after a mudslide shut the road down between fremont and sunol for an hour during the commute.
