and if you look at all the indicators coming in, we see a picture of an economy that's heali healing.see that in the consume earp confidence numbers, in the housing data. we see that in recent job reports. so i think it's all pointing to a picture of an economy that's moving in the right direction and it's important that we continue to build on this progress. that's why the president wants to extend the middle class tax cuts. that's why he wants to make sure -- >> but you're not commenting specifically. you will not comment specifically on the accuracy of the data, of the methodology, the actual number that comes out of labor? >> i say every month these numbers are volatile. they move around, they get revised. it's important to look at a wide range of indicators. the professional economistses who assemble the data are absolutely first rate. the methodology has been developed over a period of years and the u.s. economy is hard to measure. that's why it's important to take a broad look and not overreact to any particular report, try to keep the numbers in perfespective. >> dr. krueger,
