i think that first dissent will come from either stephen moore or hermann came if they survived the confirmation prices. some moderate republicans have expressed concerns. an advocate for returning to the gold standard so there are some questions about the economic policies of both moore and kane. vonnie: i'm and ask you something similar. do we get a change of effectiveness -- economic policy if we get a different shaped federal reserve? possibility, i a think the most important thing is to focus on the flow. there are risks from around the world that might influence a lot of the data which the fed looks at on a month-to-month basis. if you get or sought -- or start to see softer payrolls, they will be more important. that said, the president could put someone in place who is a lot more dovish and would support his view and reflect his view more closely. i think the data will be the important thing. guy: we will talk about europe in more detail. but given the fact that the u.s. economy is looking good right now, how does that change the narrative? i do not dig into the details, but i wonder abo

you just saw a bunch of republicans come out and push back against hermann cane's nomination to the fed. while i would say generally republicans haven't been great pushing back against the president, they will do it hopefully, hopefully if there are things in there that are bad enough to rise to the level where they have to speak out. >> let me push on that. is that a possibility that if let's say things are very play tablet a -- blatant and we don't know this, let's say there is blatant statements by mcgahn or someone, will some of the center republicans fear that people that have your type of view in the republican party may even give them primaries? >> they might. although, i don't know that's going to be the big criteria. the people that will speak up will speak up maybe less about electoral concerns and more because they are the kinds of people that really care about things like the rule of law. i'm going to look really closely at mitt romney. he's not up for reelection but somebody i think will do the right thing when it matters and so those are the kinds of people i'm looking at.

freedom as for average is a great book by arthur hermann that talks a bit about it. we weren't exactly socialist in world war ii but we had nationalized and centralized production. and there were two schools of thought at the time in american politics. one nas referrwas referred to it economic report of the president was the roman view which we think of as the socialist view where we centralize production and might as well go the rest of the way. if we do that we have the stable, productive economy and we won't have another great depression. but then the opposes view what they called in the first economic report, the spartan view which i guess we call the capitalist view today. and the spartan view was that this sort of competition the, natural competition between people and firms would lead to prosperity. and everybody understood that they had a grave decision to make back then. and they weren't exactly sure that all the politicians in washington would be fully informed about what we know about the roman and the spartan view. and so they created the counsel of econo
