darcy spencer is live in herndon tonight with more.i, darcy. >> reporter: yeah, chris, the cuttings happened in this bathroom behind me. it's called the kidwell barn. we're told four animals were cut between yesterday afternoon and this morning. police say this case is very close to and also very similar in nature to a recent case where three horses were slashed. this calf known affectionately as henry was sliced across the top of his head. this goat called scandal was also cut. they are among the four animals slashed by an unknown attacker at the kidwell barn located at frying pan park in herndon. >> awful, horrible, senseless. no, that's just awful, unspeakable. >> reporter: police say another goat and chicken were also cut sometime between 5:00 p.m. saturday and 7:00 a.m. sunday. police say the crimes could be connected to similar injuries n inflicted on three horses on adjacent property in april. >> i think that's absolutely horrible. they're completely innocent animals and there's no reason for that at all. it's just cruel. >> rep

jackie benson reports now from herndon. >> being carried down the stairs by her dad, is how she ended a monday that began with being hit by a car. high school students are notorious for dashing to a second school bus stop after they just missed the bus at the first one. that's what tiffany was doing when she made a split second miscalculation trying to cross six lanes of busy west ox road. >> i guess i didn't see him. they said i flew up in the air. >> her dad saw it happen. >> i just saw her get hit, flew into the air, and -- fall. >> the collision left her with a sprained ankle, sore back, and scratches on her cheek from where she hit the ground when she fell. >> sdnts the bus stops which we moved out of two developments on to ever busier west ox a few years ago are an accident waiting to happen. >> when people come off that, off of 7100, they are trying to get around the bus or they don't stop. >> last fall after complaints from parents, the decision was made to resume in development bus stops on that side of west ox road. but only for elementary school students and only in the mor

police in herndon, virginia says four animals were stabbed overnight at the kidwell barn at flying pan the animals' wounds were discovered when caretakers adrived to feed them this morning. the injuries aren't life- threatening. last month three horses, housed in a barn near the park were also stabbed. police are looking for a suspect tonight. >>> in california, a boat collides with a row boat sending stunned members of a crew team spilling into the water. it happened this afternoon at marina dell ray. it plowed into the rowing shell carrying nine members of the l. a. rowing club. one women was air lifted from the water to the hospital. everyone else was shaken up but apparently okay. >> i saw the rowing shell and the people in the water. i gave them my life jacket and the seat cushion for flotation. and i helped get some of them out of the water until help arrived. i'm actually surprised it didn't sink. given how much of it is underwater. >> the driver told authorities he just didn't see the rowing shell. that accident under investigation tonight. >>> still ahead on 9news now this sun
