police say a 52-year-old herndon man who works at the store was killed around 4:00 friday afternoon. his bodice covered around midnight last night. his relatives got concerned when he didn't return home or answer repeated phone calls. police had to get the fire department to break through the locked front door. that's when the victim was found. he was pronounced dead at the scene. while reviewing surveillance video, police saw the crime being committed. they're not saying exactly how the victim was killed or what weapon was used. police say they could see the attacker taking jewelry on the video. they're conducting an inventory to see what was stolen. they're hoping the fact that the suspect was wearing a brightly colored vest may lead to his arrest. >> i'm in shock that this happened. i just found out and i was back here earlier this morning and i saw the police here in force and i've never seen them here before. i'm just disturbed and whoever did this, i hope they're caught. whoever did this, i hope they turn themselves in. >> reporter: police at this point are not releasing the id

this morning, the police say the 52-year-old herndon man dead was in the store. they were responding to the calls from the man's family that he never returned home from work the night before and police are not releasing the cause of death. they releasing the picture of the suspect. those are surveillance photos and they describe the suspect as a black man in his 50s, around 5'7". if you know who this man is or have any information, call arlington police. >>> a prince georges county police officer is recovering after she was shot at a hyattsville night club this morning. it happened outside of the galaxy night club and sports bar on university boulevard. the officer was off duty and working security for the club. she kicked three people out and then police say the car drove slowly past the club entrance. one person reached through the passenger side window and shot the officer in the leg. other officers returned fire and there was a chase and police arrested three people. >> this is the fifth time in more than 18 months that a prince georges county police officer

we have a guest now on the phone from herndon, virginia.elcome. >> carol, thank you for having me this morning. >> thanks for being here. you guys are getting hammered by customers and politicians. you know you're making headway. but still, some customers won't have power for days. in your mind, how long should someone be without power and not blame their utility company? >> well, i think what we're trying to do is work with customers and explain what we're up against. again, we have restored about 85% of our customers through the day. but yesterday, i was out with customers walking some neighborhoods. and when i took the customers to where some of our rebuilding our facilities are, i think they started to get a better appreciation of the force of these winds and the trees coming down on our facilities and literally having to rebuild the facilities in these neighborhoods. so i definitely get that the customers are frustrated and understand the heat. what we are trying to do is give customers information and explain our process of getting th
