abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is in napa. can you describe the smell?it smells like a strong smoke scent and the fire or the wind is knocking the smell around it is very windy. the sun is coming up and officials are getting a better sense of the ground that is being covered. this is the most dramatic video when the bright fire is burning in the middle of the night all over sonoma and napa. there are three fires burning in sonoma in the knights valley area that burned 200 acres so far and they have zero percent containment. they say they have very strong winds from the north in sonoma and they have 150 personnel on the scene fighting this fire at highway 128. this call came in at 1:15 when a power line came down. that starts the fire. in napa county, this is at yountville and started at 11:45 with 40 percent contain and 50 acres burned. they are mapping the fire right now and expect it to give the latest numbers any minute so that will be changing soon. also, very windy there and they have last a farm to this fire. no other structures, though, have been

abc7 news amy hollyfield has the latest in oakland on the fire. >> right now, firefighters are watching it very carefully. they pulling stuff from their there could possibly spark another fire, anything that caught their attention, watching for hotspots and watching the merritt bakery. this icon did not bun and is still standing and caught fire at 2:45. firefighters got here and it was burning inside on the first and second floors. they were able to save the merritt bakery and got the fire out in 30 minutes. they say this place, believe it or not, has had fire before. >> a high volume place and has a lot of activity as far as cook ing so if the place is here long enough, and it has been here since the 60's, maybe longer than that, and you are in business for over 50 years you will have a fire or two. >> longer than that, since 1952, 61 years here on east 18th street in oakland. it has survived ownership changes and money problems, the city has had to step in to keep it a float a few years ago but it is still standing with smoke and water damage inside. the merritt bakery is still here.

[ inaudible ] we said "stop the car" and the car was completely engulfed. i felt that no one could have survived that. >> the four survivors climbed through the privacy window with the fire from the back of the car all the women were moving to the front of the car to get away from it and the five who died were found huddled near the privacy window. there is one more new development in the investigation. a witness has come forward saying the limousine was dragging an inch off the ground and she noticed it before the fire.

amy hollyfield? >> the first location, the firefighter cosmonaut find the fire. the smoke differents and people called about the fire being in different areas so they lost ten or 12 minutes looking for the fire. they finally saw a glow from the park off of skyline boulevard and they got there, got out quickly but they had to get through thick brush in the dark. what they have in their favor is the weather. there is hardly any wind here. they got the call at 1:47 this morning and got the fire out by 4:00. this is 500 or 600 feet east of the road so that is a challenge. they are not going to leave this unattended and will stay here until the sun comes up. they want to get an established line here with hand crews in there to shovel a perimeter around so you can see behind me several trucks from cal fire and the oakland fire department working on this. red cross is here to help the firefighters offer some coffee and water because they know they have hard work ahead of them. everyone is okay and no one is hurt with no structures threatened or damaged and no victims fr

. >> abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is at the bridge with the latest. amy? >> caltran says they found the problem, they fixed it and are moving on. let me show you what the issue. see this gap in the bridge? they do that on purpose. when weather makes it expand or contract, it has wiggle room. see the bolts? they did have caps on them, they were decoration. a welder welded them on there and that cannot happen because they don't have room to move weapon the bridge expands making this protective railing loose which, of course, is a safe hazard. they are on it and they have already fixed them and it wasn't a bolt problem, it was because it was human error and the officials say that is to be expected. >> we do not know who was doing the work but on a regulate of this scope and scale, something this massive, you are going to run into challenges from time to time. the whole point of quality assurance and quality control process is to check the things in the field. it is not light traffic on the bridge but we are watching these in the issue, during construction, in

amy hollyfield joins us from the c.h.p. office in oakland. any word on the suspects? >> no arrests yet but we have learned investigators are looking at surveillance video from the coliseum to see if the two victims were at the warriors game. who they talked to, if they were there. investigators think the two victims were targeted. the porsche was shot at more than a dozen times from a semi-automatic weapon. they do believe someone in a dark-colored s.u.v. pulled up next to the porsche and started shooting. they were wearing warriors testimony shirt and driving away from the coliseum after the game at 10:38 at night. they cannot confirm that is where they were coming from. they say they do think the victims were targeted. both were shot to death and police say they believe they ruled out road rage. >> road rage, you would have someone throwing something from the vehicle and often shots are fired it is one, two, or three, random. in this case, it does not appear in this incident because, again, the volume of rounds that were fired. >> police shut down interstate 880 for

. >> abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield has more from the police station. >> this is where it all ended. we are just getting new details from the police. they are saying there were two groups of men at 16th and mission. the two groups got into an altercation and this was an attempted robbery and then the triple shooting. >> three men in their 40's were gunned down at 16th and mission before 4:00 this morning. the 40 and 47-year-old men were shot in the legs but the 46-year-old victim is suffering from life-threatening injuries. the victim shot in the torso was struck and that is all we have. >> the witnesses and victims got a look at the car which helped police. >> officers in the bay you have district located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop that vehicle. it appears the suspect vehicle backed into our paw -- patrol vehicle. >> police arrested the three men in the car and one officer was injured. they found a semi-automatic handgun they believed they tossed out of the car. this started as a robbery and now trying to learn more about the men they have arrested. >> police are now
