most san francisco house us don't have crawl spaces so most san francisco houses do not have cripple walls. what we do have is we typically have one or 2 story over garage. the garage at street level, those walls become like the cripple walls. so, what we like to see, we like to see people strengthen those garage walls the same way you strengthen the cripple walls. you installed the anchor bolts and ready to install plywood. cdx or structural one is recommended min mun half inch thick plywood. add them in install the plywood in segments of 4 feet long minimum segments it's not worthwhile for garage or basement walls to add plywood in shorter segments. longer is better, of course. you don't want to go over board and for example, cover one entire wall with plywood and leave the others bear. you are making it worse. the best thing to do is to distribute the installation of plywood as evenly as possible around the perimeter walls much the simpson book shows a picture of that. >> page 13 and 14. >> those typical for most san francisco houses especially because if you have 25 foot wide lot

so using our limited resources, what samhsa's trying to do is address facilitating programs, housing,ting the person who's homeless where they are. if you offer only one model, then you're going to miss a lot of people, and we don't want to be in a situation where we say, if you don't belong to this group, we can ignore you. the homeless situation requires support. we also want to make it clear that we, we provide services at samhsa. we don't just do the housing. we have to work with hud, we have to work with administration of children and families, work with hrsa, work with the corporation for supportive housing and other nonprofit groups, so that we're dealing with the full spectrum. and working- so that would require a very extensive assessment of that individual. we definitely prefer a case-by-case assessment of the individual. so you want outreach workers addressing the unique needs-why is that person homeless? what are the circumstances? is it a sexual orientation issue, is it a family issue, is it an economic issue, is it a chronically mental illness issue? what's going on with

housing one person boggles the mind. why hasn't the mayor's office provided us that data. they promised that. and when people leave affordable housing, do we have another candidate that actually goes in there that needs the affordable housing? and what happens if you have affordable housing and no one has been able to answer this, and then you get a very good job and you're making more than the person who needs the affordable housing? i think this whole issue of your income has to be important over time because if you come in affordable housing, you need it, you should have it. but what if you get a good-paying job you don't need the affordable housing, shouldn't you have to leave that affordable housing and give it to someone that actually needs affordable housing? so there's an equities to me i see if we did an audit of all the affordable housing, take a couple units, take a look at that, how many people are living there, how much they're paying and do an audit on it, we'd probably have more room for more people that need affordable housing. so i don't know how to proceed with that but it still irks the crap out of me someone can have
