the 15-year-old was taken from howard high school of technology by helicopter but efforts to save her life were not successful. lets go to chad pradelli outside of the school in wilmington with all the details. >> reporter: rick, the mayor and chief of police and other officials just held a press conference here at howard high school saying that a fight broke out in a girl's bathroom and the victim was knocked unconscious and it was a disturbing scene as paramedics desperately tried to save her life. >> i'm so upset -- that a young lady lost her life today. things like this shouldn't happen. my heart bleeds for the family and the kids that go to this school and the administrators and our city. >> ems and first responders frantically tried to revive the victim. she was air lifted to a local hospital where she later died. kayla wilson says she was in the stall when the fight broke out inside of the bathroom. >> she was fighting a girl and then all of these other girls started banking her. >> banking? >> like jumping her and she hit her head on the sink. >> school was dismissed a short t
