howard was a superintendent west of here and had two sons. there's a lot of guys that have held the record for the longest travel guide and for some reason it comes up to 350 miles, 340 depending who is telling the story and there are some candidates who went a little bit further west and his story does standup but i really like howa howard. as i have said earlier the most accomplished superintendent in any section of they had adjoining sections so they would cover less than 100 miles apiece. on the one trip there were older teenagerteenagers are 19, 20, 21-years-old. when you are 18, 19, 20 looking to start a family. the problem was he had to go from one station to another and it happened that his girlfriend lived in the station that howard wrote to so he goes to his brother and says could you do me a solid, and unfortunately his name has been lost but i want to spend a few hours with her what do you say. he loved his brother and said okay i will do it so he went out and started. he did the 100th mile thing. they would race out of town. they
