she is one of several bay area performers hoping to become the next "american idol." the idol judges gave matty hudsonow night's show. tonight, she was at a viewing party. ktvu was live in hudson seeing all the support she has. >> reporter: the 17-year-old was the guest of honor tonight for a meet and greet party. >> hi. i'm matty. pleased to meet you. >> reporter: matty hudson is in her elementment doing something she loves. meeting fans. >> for me, everybody is like a new friend. i get really excited. it's so awesome to meet such supportive people. >> i give hugs. >> reporter: upbeat, and outgoing, she won the hearts of those who came to meet their favorite idol. >> she's so nice. i was freaking out, and she was refriendly. >> i love matty, since i saw her audition, i've been a big fan of hers. >> reporter: behind matty's smile, she developed after having difficult times in school. she said she didn't fit in. >> i was bullied to the extreme. you know, everything from death threats to hate phone calls, to awful messages. >> reporter: the angst that came with coping for troubles with tears perhaps wor
