. >> reporter: more violence in d.c. just as police step up patrols in their all hands on deck operation. this morning we are waiting for results from the police union on their vote of no confidence in police chief cathy lanier. they are voting because they say the violence is out of control and they blame in part the chief's decision to dismantle the vice squad for this reason. residents report gunfire happening in all quadrants of the city. the latest a double shooting on 3rd and k streets southwest. it was sunday evening, 6:45, an innocent bystander was shot. she was a 13-year-old girl was walking home from the library. she and the man who we're told was the likely target are expected to recover. that girl was shot in the leg. police are looking for a blue sedan in connection with that double shooting. while those victims will survive, we can tell you who people were shot and killed over the weekend. we'll have much more on the victims coming up in the next half-hour. we're live outside of police headquarters, delia go

d.c. played a role in the rescues, a plan that did not go smooth late first. d.c.'s government sent a convoy of first responders and that included police, doctors, nurses, four buses to bring evacuees back to washington and to provide any support that they could, but that effort turned into an embarrassment. news4's mark segraves was the only reporter to travel with that d.c. team and he reported on how the con advice of unable to coordinate with local authorities in new orleans or with fema. medical personnel did provide help to some people they encountered but the overall effort failed. the d.c. team left new orleans with only one evacuee. eventually, the district took in hundreds of evac which is who were flown in from overburdened relief centers in arkansas. the d.c. armory housed those evacuees for weeks. >>> going out this evening? here's what you can expect. today, our temperatures topped out again in the low 80s cries the area. some neighbors stayed in the upper 70s, anacostia, there is like a lion village, alexandria. here is what you can expect, 7:45 this
