it is the consistency of the warmer temperatures showing up for the inland east bay valleys where it is low 80s for just about everybody. maybe 79 for a few of you, but it will be low 80s inland. it will be low 70s along the east bay shore. temperatures climb into the mid to upper 70s for much of marin county. mid-80s further north. let's get into the 7-day forecast and callouts of temperatures. san francisco and oakland will see temperatures hit 80 by thursday. when we look at the story play out for the north bay valleys, it is 85 thursday, 90 in san jose. the warmest inland valleys for the east bay hit 90 on thursday and 89 friday. >>> this morning parents and students are waiting to find out whether teachers will be walking off the job as soon as monday. members of the oakland education association wrapped up a vote on whether to authorize the strike. they are expected to announce the results this evening. the union is demanding an additional 23% raise. there asking for more school counselors and social workers and smaller class sizes. the district has proposing 22% raise next year

for the inland east bay valleys there's the warmest 91 this is why we contrast the microclimates likeou the warmest line on top. inland east bacon trusted bay contrasted with the -- first noticeable warm-up of the season. for now gianna, how's the drive looking? >>> you know the drive is looking okay overall on the freeways. but we have a traffic alert this morning. so definitely if you are commuting through the berkeley area here's something you certainly want to think about. this is happening because caltrans is closing the off ramp from 80 to gilman street. it's the first closure and it began last night and goes through wednesday. crews are working on a roundabout. starting may 2nd by the way, gilman will actually be closed for 50 days so start planning ahead. this is all part of a $75 million project that also includes bike and pedestrian crossings. they've been working on this for a while. all right, let's take a look at traffic elsewhere. a live look at conditions tracking the morning commute. taking 101 near 380 near the airport. so far, so good. not seeing a lot of brake light

numbers inland, east bay warming to around 80. temperatures right back in the heart of the bay that are a little cooler tomorrow than today. this is the only place we'll notice a change today into tomorrow. slightly cooler. not a big difference. sunday will be more noticeable. still in the mid-80s for most north bay communities. sunday morning we'll fill the bay in with some of the marine layer. also another sign of the seasonal change. sunday's temperatures, and monday's, go down a little. you don't notice it a lot for san francisco and oakland. you're back down to the upper 60s in location, but you warm thw h bay valleys going back to the low 80s. this is why i said we'll be staying here for awhile. we cool down sunday and monday, but you're going right back. much of next week, lee it can south bay. san jose, those are your numbers. 82 by wednesday, and when we look at the inland east bay compared to the coast, usually we're going to see the warmest numbers over here. that was the tall orange bar we had on there. you do get a bit

we looked at the daytime highs at the top of the newscast for today and it was low 80s for the inland east bay. it was close in the south bay. it was low 80s in the north bay. so tomorrow, everybody cools down. some of us by six or seven degrees. north bay may not cool down that much. north bay one of our warmer spots tomorrow. we will spotlight a couple of locations. it will be 80 tomorrow. up in heelsburg. it will be 81 in calistoga. it is still a sunny and warm day. in wine country. everybody else does cool down. here is a great way to visualize that. you get into orange, you are like 10ees how different sunday looks. we take a lot of that orange away. you see blue coming back to the coast. a lot like the story we were talking about. you will be in the 50s at the coast tomorrow. while you are still holding onto some 80-degree temperatures inland. and the reason why this cooldown starts tomorrow, you can see it play out. i'm going to let this go into the overnight hours and watch the marine layer redevelop. tomorrow morning we will wake up with the wet gray blanket overhead. so it will be a

numbers for the inland east bay will be low 90s along with upper 80s in places like dublin. skipping over the hill to the heart of the bay, cooler temperatures but relatively warm, it is 78 in oakland, 80 in san leandro. but the upper 80s return when you get for the north, looking at 87 in novato. all the while, the city barely getting to 70 today. we look at a bit of a breeze that will pick up this afternoon. watch the screen that up as we get to this point. that will keep temperatures a little more comfortable, as you take a look at the city and along the coast. other than that, you are relatively warm even there. looking at the seven-day forecast for san francisco and oakland first. the number makes it to 80 degrees. still in two saturday, all of a sudden an interesting item shows up in the forecast. not only significantly cooler temperatures by the time we get into tuesday and wednesday but we are also looking at a small 20% chance of rain from this system, responsible for the cooldown. it is one of those cut off lows that will make the intensity and timing of it a little

just got to get through the cool temperatures right now and inland east bay as well and as well as along right through here. if you are commuting this morning, definitely as you head out the door grab that jacket. >>> let's take a look at the roadways right now getting ready to make that ride along 880. the nimitz freeway. near winton. that's where we have a bit of a snag, a trouble spot there. about 20 minutes to go south 880 from experian down to about 237. so even with that crash there, we're not seeing a lot of brake lights or issues. okay, let's take a look at traffic elsewhere. if you are making that ride into the altamont pass, or towards highway 4, you can see things aren't doing too bad here. highway 4 in antioch over to 80 that's about 25 minutes right now. really our slow spot is the ride along 580 into the altamont pass. and because the breezy conditions you are going to see some of that across some of the freeways and bay area bridges. live look here at the dublin interchange, you can see things definitely getting a little bit crowded as you head westbound 580 to 680. >> you
