it is are expected this afternoon after a warm weekend , in the inland east bay where we had heat advisorieswill see more warmer temperatures around the corner. let's start with daytime highs today. 90s in the inland east bay near antioch up into fairfield and brimfield. along the coastline today, it will be breezier. near bodega bay and into san francisco. we are expecting about 25 mile-per-hour wind gusts with breezier conditions in the north bay areas . we have big changes around the corner. another heat waveill warm us up heading into the weekend forecast . as we look at the 10 day models, we are expecting 90s and triple digits as early as friday for the inland east bay. >>> let's get to different events today in the bay. people in richmond will have a chance to weigh in on an independent report on the 2021 chevron oil spill that happened in richmond. the spill sent more than 700 gallons of diesel water makes into the bay. the independent report found corrosion cause a leak in a steel pipe at the refinery. it found chevron did not do enough to inspect the pipe leading up to the spill. >>

if you are in the city, peninsula, east bay shore, you are not included in the excessive heat warning tomorrow. south bay communities and certainly inland east bay communities are. this goes from saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. until sunday night. pleasanton, san ramon, concord, livermore, all those communities. we get back into the immediate bay and notice all up and down 880 while it will be a warm day, it is not excessively hot. let's take a look what that looks like in the seven-day forecast. san francisco and oakland, your numbers don't go up a whole lot. you'll be near 80 for oakland by the time we get into saturday and sunday, but nothing too unmanageable there. north bay valleys and south bay valleys, two first alert days on saturday and sunday right around 100 for north bay valleys and just about the mid-90s for san jose. good news as we get into next week. temperatures will start cooling back down again. inland east bay valleys, 106 on saturday. 103 on sunday. take a look at next week. you'll be all the way back down into the mid-80s by the time we get to wednesday and of course look at the beaches for the weekend. temperatures

we will bring the temperatures in the inland east bay all the way down to the low 90s. 85 in the north bay valleys. 87 in san jose and we are staying in the 80s in concord. we can watch the marine layer come back to help us with this cool down. if we play it forward for monday you have more sunshine. monday afternoon. maybe some marine layer coming through the golden gate. watch how the clouds take over. on tuesday morning. that is tuesday. 6:00 a.m. and we are looking at widespread stratus. this is a good sign of a cooler tuesday. but it has some downsides in terms of fireworks in the evening. take a look at tuesday night at 7:45. we see the clouds overtake the city and the immediate golden gate through the east bay. we will have an issue with visibility on some fireworks shows in the city. inland at 10:00 or 11:00 at night and it is clear skies for inland contra costa county. san jose. most fireworks displays inland will be just fine. on tuesday, inland in the mid-80s. it will stay clear all the way through fireworks time. in the bay , the numbers are specifically for the city in the

we are using the inland east bay of how things will be different . ou may remember daytime highs, the average daytime highs for contra costa , this is the inland east bay representative spot, 88 would be average. today and tomorrow you have those numbers and there is no difference. but look at the difference, this is the spotlight. when we get to 82, it is noticeably cooler from one day to the next. temperatures will drop almost 10 degrees and we will sit there for a while. there is a warm up that comes after that for next weekend. then you will see what that looks like, not only for inland contra costa county but all the microclimates let's start with today. if we watch future cast, into the early morning, we have seen the marine layer build in, as we look ahead from where we are now. once we get toward late morning and early afternoon it melts to the beaches and there are a few high clouds . if you remember saturday, you had low grade to start the day, near the immediate bay and the golden gate. it did not last long. even the city looked at sunshine

we start out by spotlighting the inland east bay. when we do that, we'll take a look at the seven-day forecast first, which shows us a spotlight all the way over here. take a look at friday. once we get to this day, this day is not like all the others. this is the day it's going to stand out. it's not only here, 96 for the inland east bay is the exaggeration. but we can do this again. let's check in on the numbers now for san jose. when we do this,while it's not going to be as warm, still noticeably warmer than where you are today. san jose, that's your seven-day. and we have to spotlight the same day, friday. this is when this is going to happen here. saturday technically will be a little warmer. there was an 89 on there by saturday. we'll get everybody's seven-day forecast in a bit, but you know the drill when the inland valleys warm up. everybody has a bit of a warm up, but san francisco and oakland may not feel this all that much. current numbers. san jose only 68 degrees right now. it's 73 in concord. these are the numbers that

shore and inland east bay, you will be in the 70s along 880. you will be about 80 for most of the communities for those inland valleys up and down 680 today. the seven-day forecast for san francisco and oakland. oakland you have a lot of days that will be staying in the 60s. at least one on them on wednesday at 69. you will be 70 for thursday and friday. san francisco will be in the mid 60s through the end of the week. we can look at north bay valleys for santa rosa. you will look at numbers in the mid 80s wednesday through friday. san jose you will dip down to upper 70s by friday and saturday. inland east bay, a lot of mid 80s. that's making up for the 105 that you did over the weekend. by next weekend, you will be staying there. it's a cool down and you will feel the benefits really today. primarily th entire second half of the week into the weekend when we continue on this cooling trend. >>> i have an update on the crash we have been following. all lanes open, some good news for anyone making that trek sout

now, if you are in the inland east bay, we are talking solano county, inland contra costa or inland alamedanties, up to 97 on the aqi scale. spare the air kicks in at 101. we are pretty close, but what is helping us out is the same reason why san francisco is still relatively cool. it is essentially the nonstop sea breeze. it is this shallower than it has been over the last couple of weeks. it is keeping san francisco's temperatures in the 60s and also helping out that bay area air quality. as you head to san jose, not too bad, in the mid 80s. as you head to san rafael looking at mid 80s, but as you move farther inland towards livermore, 102 degrees earlier today. still sitting at 98. here is a look at what today's highs were like versus what we should typically see this time of year. we should normally see mid to upper 80s inland. you went well beyond that today by 10 to 16 degrees hotter than average. santa rosa, 99. concord, 99. san jose at 88 degrees and the island of cooling at san francisco as the fog continues to linger there. the upper peninsula of san francisco not in the heat advi

the inland east bay where we had some of our hottest temperatures today.ou got up to about 101 in concord today. but it was 104 in livermore. what i show you what things look like from now to the middle of the week and towards next weekend. things to get better. i mean, daytime highs for concord -- but get to wednesday and thursday we are in the mid 80s. we do warm-up back over there. temperatures dr. klein back to that mid-90s. we have one more first alert day and that is this one over here. we still have to get to tomorrow. sunday is 101. whatever you did to kind of adjust, this one will make sure that you do that tomorrow in terms of kind of go easy on your self. that is the seven-day for concord. we will do everybody in just a bit. it is still hot out now but things are starting to improve. these are the daytime highs. see that 104 per livermore? san jose made it to 93 today. oakland made it to 79. those are just kind of like four representative spartz for where we were on the daytime highs today. just to pull out where the current numbers were now, if

the inland east bay, in fact. well in concord, these are your numbers. days will go. this has to look good. it's 104 in the east bay yesterday. today, you were in like the mid to upper 90s tomorrow. tomorrow you'll be in the low 90s. if you look back here, a whole string of days that are coming in below average. i think today, we should spotlight the first day that happens. this one. when you get down to the mid-80s on wednesday, take note of that. it will feel cooler. and then if that is your thing and you like it, just know we're on cruise control for now. you'll be staying in the mid-80s over here for a little while. that's the story on the temperature. that haze out there, the air quality in general has gotten better. i'll show you everybody's reading in a second. what's happened over the last hour is a little stronger onshore flow with a lot more humidity in there and it doesn't look good. humidity, they will decrease the visibility of the air, you know, if that kept going. it really decreases it. what's the air quality reading right now? out here i

then as you head toward the tri-valley, the inland east bay could be as hot as 103 degrees in fairfield with upper 80s and low 90s in the north bay. tomorrow is the peak of the heat and we're going to see a lot of triple digits from martinez to concord, over toward livermore and down to san martin and morgan hill we're going to see some really hot temperatures. also very hot on sunday, but in san francisco you can see the coastal temperatures, it's going to be really nice there. so once again, our microclimate is in full effect for the weekend. we're going to talk about when we'll get a nice cooldown and some of the dangers we're facing this weekend as the valley temperatures heat up. more on that coming up in a few minutes. >>> mike has a look at where we can find lower gas prices. >> we have the $4.09s we talked about yesterday, but the lows are rising. costco has the low in santa clara with $4.27 on coleman avenue. contra costa county shows up with a low of $4.29, we're looking at ultra and national both on clayton road in concord. then we count on hq fuels for the low in the north b

we'll continue the see that heat wave really break apart back into the 90s for our friend in the inland east bayrt seeing cooler temperatures all throughout the bay area at that point. along the coast, 60s expected for us and we'll get close to the 70s heading into this weekend for our coastline near pacifica and half-moon bay but for the most part just upper 60s. we have issued first alert weather days for friday, saturday and sunday due to the excessive heat watch. continue to track that helding into the rest of the week and i'll let you know how temperatures trend but for now still expecting triple digits in the inland east bay with 70s expected for our friends in san francisco. gianna. >>> you know, not too bad and in fact what we're really dealing with this morning is a little bit of fog on the golden gate bridge. not too bad on the south end but on the north end through the waldo grade maybe heading through the sausalito. at little foggier there. so much so they issued a fog advisory for the golden gate bridge. keep an eye on that. other than it's looking okay on some of the main freeways.

seriously though here in the bay area within the next couple of days we have high pressure ridging its way in. antioch, brentwood. fairfield all throughout the east inland hills even for the friends in the north and south bay too. here in san francisco, it's a little bit of a different setup. we're taking a live look right now at what should be the golden gate bridge. a little bit cooler for us in san francisco this morning with current temperatures sitting in the low 50s with upper 50s down in the santa clara valley and 60s already off into concord. later this afternoon 90s in the inland areas and 60s from the coast into the bay. we have a big change around the corner as high pressure builds its way in from the south. this warms us up this heats us up and this is the big reason why the national weather service has issued an excessive heat warning heading into our weekend forecast. both saturday and sunday for all of our inland areas, let's take a quick look at some spots already and i mean san jose alone, we are warming up into the 90s on sunday. with cooler conditions right around the corner. it cools down fast too. once we head just a little bit more
