are we looking good in the traffic department, mike inouye? >> we are looking good as far as the volume of traffic goes. slower speeds for highway 4. good because there's nothing unexpected blocking traffic. it's the typical volume. holding at 22. it's not bad. further south, we have the increase in traffic and the slowing. we have a 17-minute drive coming into livermore and slowing through livermore and clearing up by the time you get to airway. 67 to pleasanton. 580 moves slowly toward caster valley. we join up with traffic as they join the water. the chopper is showing traffic away from us from the top of the screen heading to the peninsula. haze in the air from time to time. nothing affecting your drive here. we get another look at the maps and show you the south bay. the northbound commute direction, nothing blocking. tonight, prince is performing at one of his two concerts this week, hb pavilion. a lot of folks coming into the area. a lot of folks wearing purple. in the 80s, we have frilly shirts and blouses coming into the area. a live

mike inouye is watching the drive closely this morning. 52 in san jose. 49 in san mateo. throughout the afternoon, temperatures along the peninsula and north bay are not going to climb that much. we are going to see these numbers in the upper 50s and low 60s. this is what it's looking like in terms of the rainfall. the next front pushes closer to the coast. by 2:00, on the shore. the rain lasts through 1:00 a.m. the sunshine will return and we have 70s on the extended forecast. now, you have to get to work through the rain. how does it look, mike? >> it looks good. i was testing out the app christie was telling us about. it's cool. bay bridge explorer. exploring the bay bridge, you are talking act the rain on the bridge. be careful about that. a high wind advisory. an earlier accident cleared to the shoulder but is there westbound, the commute approaching the tunnel at fish ranch road. the activity is still there. chp is not going to head out there, it's so minimal. 880 coming down through oakland through the san mateo bridge, we talked about the wind advisory. the camera

mike inouye, we have a little bit of wind out there. is it impacting the bridges this morning? >> chp did not say anything about the bridges, but still hold on. the gusts through the east bay hills. right now, we are looking at the approach off the brooklyn curve. a person might be changing a tire there heading toward oakland on 580. watch for that. treasure island, a report of a stalled vehicle. turns out, it's a motorcycle in the fast lane through the tunnel. watch for a crew to head over there as well. no slowing because of a lighter volume of traffic. a bump up from east bay to san francisco. the good news, i guess, in the city is vaness avenue, we had a report of a big power outage, marla told you a few minutes ago, most of the power has been restored. most signals should have no problem. one or two might have an issue so, if you come to signals that are out, treat it like a four-way stop sign. make sure you watch all directions. they are busy on vaness. the east bay, a busy commute for highway 4. this is a typical pattern. it's kicking off at 5:30. 880 northbound past the

mike inouye is watching your roads very carefully this morning. we'll check with him in just a moment. this is what it looks like when we set your futurecast in motion. at 9:00 a.m., a mostly dry bay area. we'll see a little activity come through the north bay at about 4:00 p.m., but before it does, you'll be able to warm up into the 70s in the north bay today. they'll be the warmest with the most sunshine up here and a little bit on the cool side. it's going to take a little while for the south bay to clear out. 68 in san jose, 65 in los gatos and 65 in gilroy. it is 6:10, it is click out there, winds as well, mike. what can you tell us? >> i can add to that, christina. we have slick roadways. hasn't been much of an issue. the a's are scheduled to play tonight and 880 along the coliseum will be slow. we zoom into this car fire reported just as you're approaching the caldecott tunnel in the commute direction, westbound 24 right there approaching the tunnel. both bores are open but we do have a good amount of smoke coming out from under the hood on

mike inouye, i bet the roads are pretty busy. >> the slowdown is right here for antioch, the westboundirection. a reminder, the eastbound construction project has been extended for another six weeks or so, so through the middle of june for the total project to be done. westbound starts the slowing. the sensor shows us 65. that will adjust over the next few minutes. we're into the 50s where you see the yellow westbound. eastbound is where we have a disabled vehicle over on the side of the road but not the shoulder because that is in the construction zone, so watch out as you're coming eastbound past summersville, there is a disabled pickup truck and it might be partially blocking the slow lane. coming through castro valley, a nice smooth drive off 880 itself. union city, we'll jump to the area where we had an earlier issue at whipple road at 6th. 880 not affected by that investigation and right here past the coliseum, a nice, smooth drive. the camera holding steady but it has shaken from time to time and wet roads are the normal for this morning. laura, back out to you. >> yeah, keep it

right now let's get a look at your traffic with mike inouye. >> we're having our own good time. crowds gathered. let me hear it, guys, in the studio. thank you, mike and gina and marla. let's look at the maze and we have a nice flow of traffic, just about the speed limit but highway 24 still showing higher speeds so that is a problem for you if you get caught. we're looking at construction that's scheduled to pick up on interstate 80 getting over to highway 4 that. will go on until 6:00 a.m. but the willow avenue off-ramp will be closed until forever. but on friday, a new off-ramp will open making local access better so i'll give you that look ahead. that's good for residents through that area. antioch still slower, 36 now registering on the l street sensor but slow over to love ridge. a live look at oakland where they're building a bit with the northbound traffic with taillights coming around high street but no major issues on speeds. on average, 60 to 65. also 680 coming into walnut creek is pretty good. you got there okay this morning, didn't you? >> oh, yeah. actually no pro

mike inouye, you know what's going on in this area. let's see what's going on with your maps there. >> we'll take you right out there, marla. i heard that there was a full closure for willow pass road right around farm bureau from clayton road but in that shot we saw two vehicles of some sort drive right through that shot so at least some vehicles getting through the area. so far avoid it if you can and just go ahead and use port chicago highway or 242 over towards highway 4 as your all the nat around that scene. we continue to follow that also the slowing for westbound highway 4. that's expected coming through antioch. your slowing through livermore also expected but there is an accident westbound at north flynn road. still reported in lanes and that's adding to the slowdown as we descend upon westbound 580 towards the area coming into livermore. livermore and pleasanton moving smoothly. oakland also nice but volume picking up past the coliseum. we'll see slowing on 880 especially as you approach the 8:00 hour. back to you. >>> studen
