intel is-- intel is paging a big splash this year, james roger is with thestreet.com. he joins us from the nsye. they wrapped up what it will preview the show in las vegas what did you learn. >> there were big announcements there. first i will talk about one thing we didn'tee. we didn't see a big set-top box announcement there were rumors about that running into the show. intel did announce a video gateway powered by one of its chips that is part of a collaboration with comcast but no big set-top box news. what there was was a lot of news around chips. mobile devices and things that intel is really, really going to focus on. we saw intel talk about how its lowered power consumption on its bridge chips and also on its-- core architecture, part of intel's big push toward ultra books and convertibles, also high power tablets as well. so there was a lot of information about that type of thing, as well as also intel's efforts around, you know, windows 8 tablets. and also it gave a sneak peek of its fourth common trail chip which will be launched for the holiday season 2013.

i used to be an intel hawk going to new fabs.ow i feel intel's turned into a helpless giant openly questioned for the big capital expenditures. intel knows that the customer's always right but seems to have the wrong customers, certainly not apple or samsung. you sure wouldn't want to own the stock based on the quarter or the conference call. but what did management hang its hat on? how did they entice you into thinking you should own the stock here? because of hope, hope that the second half of the year will be stronger globally, that the world's economies are going to get better. and that made me ask myself, is this hope that things will get better or somehow do they just know it? and if they do know things will get better, please tell me how. i certainly believe in hope. in the end, if you're investing, i say hope should be part of the equation. you can hope that the ravens beat the belichicks and bradys and sunday, we need more facts to get more bullish from here. and the sooner we get them, the more positive i'll feel about

investing, because that would mean the hyper growth phase is over and they'd be stuck with another intel, microsoft, played out stocks, generate a lot of cash, little growth. where do i come out? i'm agnostic. i understand both sides. i get that facebook spending can be meaningful, but i thought they would make more money already. and i do fear that as good as mobile is for facebook like everyone else, it might not be good enough to offset declines in desk top ad revenue. that said, the opportunity may be bigger than that of any company i follow. the bears think facebook is being short-term profligate. i think the bulls have more fire power than bears and the stock can go higher. it's come up so far, so fast the pace will be laborered. call me a skeptic, but at a lower price. call me a buyer. stick with cramer. all stations come over to mission a for a final go.
