i mentioned earlier that monmouth, iowa, poll which has an interesting finding right at the top with donald trump and ben carson tied, well, down at the bottom end of that poll, looks familiar. chris christie up at 1% of the vote, in a three-way tie for 12th place along with bobby jindal and rick perry. rand paul is inth place with 3% of the vote. that's the monmouth, iowa poll out today. the gold standard iowa poll still considered to be the one done by the "des moines register." that poll came out yesterday. it's also a grim picture in the small numbers. chris christie in a three-way tie for tenth place with 2% of the vote. rand paul tied for eighth place with 4% of the vote. the real problem for these campaigns, though, as we head towards labor day and that sort of psychological barrier for labor day, the real problem for these campaigns right now is that none of this seems like a fluke anymore. donald trump really is at a resilient and now pretty long-standing secure position at the top of the polls. this is not one of those weeklong flirtations like a few candidates had in '08 or

the closest anybody has come to knock iing on his door is one ia poll. iowa specific poll that came out today from monmouth which showed donald trump tied with ben carson for first place in that one poll. even that doesn't show ben carson beating donald trump. no one beats donald trump anymore anywhere. this new national poll from ppp tonight also has donald trump in first place, winning by a mile, at 29%. ben carson in second place in this new national poll. ben carson at 15% which means donald trump is almost doubling ben carson's level of support. still, though, those are the only two people in double digits. those are the two guys coming in first and second. this new national poll from ppp obviously very good news for both donald trump and ben carson. this new national ppp poll actually means that donald trump and ben carson are the number one and number two choices of republicans nationwide in three of the last four national polls. that top tier is really getting to be very clear. donald trump and ben carson clearly sitting on top of the republican field

take a look at that latest iowa poll. the des moines register poll. here are the favorabilities. the top eight candidates measured by favorability. starting with ben carson going to down to donald trump. seven candidates favorables in iowa at or better than donald trump's. i would be worried about them. in fact, take a look at this. this will blow your mind. favorables -- let's take the favorables minus the unfavorables. this is their net favorability score. ben carson plus 71. scott walker plus 56. carly fiorina plus 49. out performing what she did in terms of favorables, total favorables, she has got a better margin than that might suggest. rubio plus 47. jindal, again, outperforming what you might expect, plus 43. crews 47. huckabee 30. and donald trump plus 26. if i were trump, i wouldn't be worried about slapping an ad on jeb bush tuckly when it comes to iowa. i would worry about the fact that you have seven people who are in a better shape to openly win -- >> -- it's not a popularity contest. >> >> it's also a question -- >> -- he can take iowa, he can take new hampshire. t

it's not just iowa poll. how do establishment republicans deal with this? >> that's a good question. if you look at top of the polls, it's close to half electorate if not more going for political outsider. for republican party, it's interesting. it's no more of a contrast than to hillary clinton. if you're marco rubio to some extent or even someone like senator ted cruz, i think there could be an argument that should one of the non establishment candidates collapse, you could see some of those voters going in that direction. it's fascinating that 15 months out from election day, political outsiders have skyrocketed to top of the polls. >> quickly in 30 seconds we have remaining, clinton e-mails for a moment. today the buzz. what's the buzz in washington? >> the buzz is the scandal is only going to continue. the larger story is quite frankly when hillary clinton is on capitol hill testifying in october. that's just around the time as the first democratic residential debate. it could be when vice president biden gets in. this is not going away. >> thank you so
