. >>> ivan cabrera has the latest. what is the timing for the storms? >> 6:00 a.m. but i think we have a couple of hours before the storms arrived. tornado watch issued a few minutes ago. in effect through 10:00 a.m. counties. the rest of the counties are under essentially the threat for severe thunderstorms. more straight line winds, the further north you go the more spin there is in the atmosphere which is why they've issued that watch. several hours. we'll keep you posted. here's the watch box, near the storms off-shore. they are a couple of hours away. we'll loop this for you. some of the cells are indicating some spin and so that is why the storm prediction center has decided to issue the watch box. certainly conditions are favorable for that. all of this headed to the north and east, by the time we get into 9:00 that is when i think the storms hit the tampa bay area and then pushing down to the south and east. but for all of us here it's a weather alert day. we'll keep you posted throughout the morning as the storms approach. >>> we want to look at the morning

ivan cabrera now. >> indeed. good morning. temperatures now in the 50s and low 60s. scorched i think we have more cloud -- saturday and sunday i think we have more cloud occur on the way. no weather-related issues on the roads but as we widen out out the view, i think showers and thunderstorms will be with us overnight tonight and early tuesday. i think a pretty good line of showers and storms with heavy rainfall. for us today with the additional cloud cover and southeast wind 20% chance of afternoon showers, nothing heavy or severe, temperatures in the mid-70s. we'll have the extended forecast and talking about the timing of the heavier rain coming up. >>> quick check of traffic at 4:32. live look at i-275, howard frankland bridge. there's a fatal accident being investigated now, two northbound lanes are closed, we'll check the roads again in 15 minutes. so expect a few minor delays through there, not too much in the way of heavy traffic at this time. >>> overnight a fatal crash u.s. 19 near ridge road and -- in port richey.

ivan cabrera tracking the storms. we're all interested in course in the timing. >> 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. that is why the tornado watch continues until 10:00 a.m. i want to emphasize despite the fact that only citrus, pasco, hernando are in the tornado watch, all of us are under the gun for the potential of severe thunderstorms with wind gusts in excess of 60 miles per hour as we head through the remainder of today. but in these counties, across the nature coast we have conditions more favorable for severe thunderstorms to take on rotation. that's what's going on up here. in fact the rest of us may get a watch box as far as the severe thunderstorms, that hasn't happened. i'll let you know if it does. we'll have to wait for the evolution of the storms as they continue to move from the gulf. all the lightning associated with it. my concern is more for the cells that develop ahead of it. we'll watch that. but the timing, again for the nature coast, after 7:00 a.m., we'll see a line of showers and storms move in. 6:00 to 7:00

. >>> let's go to ivan cabrera. winds are howling. a lot of advisories. >> yes. in fact we're going to start with the weather alert. as we talk about the lake wind advisory that has been posted, goes into effect at 11:00, continues until 6:00 p.m. it's a new one. we've had the gale warnings since yesterday. we have 10 to 14-foot seas, very dangerous. small craft advisory obviously, at least through the day wednesday and thursday we begin to relax the wind. we're gusting anywhere from 25 to 30 miles an hour. that will continue throughout the day today. so with temperatures in the 50s we are talking about wind chills that are remaining in the 40s. we're going to do that with mostly cloudy skies. a couple of showers along the coast can't be ruled out. 20% coverage. the big story, the wind and the very chilly temperatures that will continue as we head through tonight. in fact we've had the wind can guess this, we're talking about high wind advisories along the skyway bridge. that's been an issue throughout the morning and janelle martinez has been keeping us posted.
