i'm j.c. hayward. a group of six lawmakers spent weeks huddled behind closed doors working on a health care reform compromise and now there's word they are days away from unveiling the finished product. they have lowered the price tag and they leftout the government- run insurance option. they are trying to gain enough republican support to get the bill passed, but they are running the risk of upsetting leading democrats. joel brown explains. >> reporter: the latest version of the health care reform bill is almost ready. a group of six moderate senators from both sides of the aisle have been working for months on a compromise. the lawmaker leading the group, democratic senator max baucus says it addressed some of the biggest concerns. it will likely leave out the government option, which is government funded insurance. that is necessary to win some gop support but it will upset some democrats like house speaker nancy pelosi. >> we will again improve quality, lower costs, expand coverage and maintain ch
