j.c. hayward. the medical examiner who performed the autopsy took the stand to explain how jayna murray died, allegedly at the hands of brittany norwood. norwood is now on trial for fatally beating murray inside the lululemon shop in bethesda. our andrea mccarren joins us now from rockville with more information. andrea? >> j.c., right now, the jury is looking at some of those gruesome color autopsy photographs depicting the 331 injuries suffered by victim jayna murray. the medical examiner testified that jayna murray was alive for all of those injuries. her heart was beating. she had a pulse. blood was flowing to her wound. it was a stunning decision, j.c. by the judge this morning, despite defense objections to allow the jury to see any of those autopsy photographs. ultimately, he had decided that the jury would see nine of the 37 that the medical examiner took during the autopsy. joining me now is our legal analyst jeanie cho with more on that. the extreme impact, i'm sure. >> andrea, my nearly

j.c. hayward. we're going to take a look at traffic conditions but figg, let's get to howard. >> a storm front went through a couple of hours ago. we have winds gusting in spots over 50 miles per hour this afternoon. we still have some rain to deal with. see some of the heavy rains we got last night. some areas had over an inch and a half of rain. now, a lot of it is offshore, quite a snow going on in northern new england. behind the system, you see some of the lingers showers in pennsylvania and the mountains, expect some of that to be coming through this afternoon. this is the cold front down toward riverside and dahlgren crossing 301 into areas in southern and eastern charles county, extending to northern calvert county around north beach and shady side in anne arundel county. this is that line where south of it is still warm. behind it, the winds are starting to kick up. temperatures are dropping. we sit at 59. look south, it is 71 in richmond right now. 63 at the pax river naval air station. 4

j.c. hayward. thank you for joining us. well, the reign of terror may be over in wheaton, maryland because police say they have made an arrest in connection with three daring kidnappings and robberies at a local mall. we have a live report. >> reporter: j.c., 50-year-old henry levi sanders of landover is under arrest and charged with multiple counts of carjacking, kidnapping and robbery. sanders is in custody in prince george's county where he's being held on other unrelated charges of theft and robbery. montgomery county is also charging him with first degree assault for the violent beating of his most recent victim, a 77-year-old man. in all three cases, sanders allegedly approached his victims in the westfield wheaton parking lot in broad daylight. forced them into their cars with a sharp object and then drove them to atms to withdraw cash. >> on the three victims, of course, they're upset. i do know two of our detectives sat with the last victim last night and his wife and talked to them about what had occurred and just

j.c. hayward. michael jackson's doctor will learn his punishment today. we're taking a live look now in the courtroom. dr. conrad murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of the pop singer three weeks ago we have the latest from the los angeles courthouse. >> reporter: members of michael jackson's family including his sister and his mother arrived for the sentencing of dr. conrad murray. the cardiologist could spend four years in prison for the death of the pop singer. legal experts believe he'll serve less time because of overcrowding in california prisons. >> we, the jury in the above entitled action find the defendant, conrad robert murray guilty. >> reporter: it was three weeks ago when a stoic murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. he was denied bail and taken away in handcuffs. he's been at the county jail in downtown los angeles ever since. during the six-week trial here in los angeles, jurors decided dr. murray's negligence directly led to the superstar's death. they blame the singer's personal physician for giving

j.c. hayward. an explosion at a west virginia post office is topping our newscast this afternoon. the blast happened this morning at the post office in ran some. in the -- ransom. in the eastern panhandle. employees and customers were evacuated and an unidentified white powder came out of a package. a hazardous material unit and state police are on the scene. 15 workers have been quarantined as a precaution even though they show no signs of illness. a robot was sent into the post office to test the air. and atf agent is also investigating. and about 20 people work in this branch. again, no serious injuries have been reported so far. we're following this story very closely. we will have updates throughout the day on our website, wusa9.com. and the latest information on our evening's newscast. >>> well, the government's latest report on jobs has been released and labor department says the unemployment rate fell to9.0% last month. while the economy is still weak, it is the first decline in the unemployment rate since july. alexis christoforous has more.
