j.r. stone spoke to several who have a plea for customers. >> reporter: an employee at this south bay location who is making a desperate plea to shoppers. be patient and stay home unless you really need something. >> some people are having cabin fever and they want to get out. they are going shopping to get cookies and ice cream and spend time in the store when it's not necessary. >> reporter: monday sarah and her team took this picture. all of the employees holding signs and while hard to see, it says stay home, we're in this together, social distancing can be beautiful. sarah says she's not the only one with safety concerns. >> i work behind the register and i'm seeing a lot of customers coming in and they're rude to the employees. they're not giving any of the employees the respect that they deserve. >> reporter: in an e-mail, safeway reps tell us they have supplied all store associates with masks, but sarah says they don't have filters in them and the store she works in lacks hand sanitizer.
