jackie is known for her impeccable taste in clothing. she had a strong eye for things that make fashion important, for the way a garment is cut from the type of fabric it is made from, from the color photographs. this photograph is jackie on a good will tour which she embarked on with her sister lee in india and pakistan. this was taken when they had toured the grave of gandhi, and one of the things i thought was interesting about this photo and why i selected it for today is one of the things that i read about her is that she would -- when she -- wand when she and the president or when she alone went on this tour to go overseas that she studied the fashions and the colors of the countries. and so you can see that she is in this particular outfit, she's wearing a white outfit that allows her not to stand out from either the ambassador that she's with, who is the gentleman to her left, and the indian official who is the gentleman to her right, and she just fits in instead of standing out from the group. similarly, this was also taken from
