jackie, connell, back to you. jackie: thank you, rich.onnell: brad blakeman here, talking more about this. brad a former bush 43 senior staffer among many other things over his career. what you do think about the way this is all playing out? >> i think one thing both sides would agree on, is what leader mcconnell said this, is by definition a political exercise. so it is nancy pelosi versus the white house. who is winning the politics of the day? >> oy, i think the president is winning because as we've seen by the impeachment indictment this has been a charade, this has been a witch-hunt, this has been a rush to judgment, it's a means to an end. it doesn't seem to ever have an end. speaker pelosi has no right to infringe on the procedure of the senate. her work stops when there is impeachment. it doesn't stop until the articles of impeachment are delivered to the senate and entered in order for the president to move to the next phase but she doesn't dictate to the senate what their procedure should be. it is up to the majority of the sena

jackie: not exactly. i want to switch gears, gary, can't think about the economy, stock market, not think about the election in 2020. your feeling how it will impact the race? >> it's everything. when you have a president, look, we are so 50/50 in this country and unfortunately there is a lot of very much dislike. so the economy will be everything, more than we have ever seen. let me just state, michigan, wisconsin, pennsylvania, florida, 75 electoral votes. 23 million votes in 2016. president only one by 190,000. those are your states if the economics are good in those states, i think he has a 99% chance of winning. that is why you will see him visit those states about 700 times in the next 10 months. jackie: jason, over to you, think about the president's policies. you may not like him, you may not like how he does things but you have to look at these numbers we're flashing across the screen and say he implemented policy that affected change and that there will be people that go into the voting booth, w

jackie: let me ask you this.er the fed's final cut sort of sent the markets into turmoil. i don't think we will hear about a cut, the market's expecting a pause right now, but what about if the tariff deadline passes on the 15th and tariffs do in fact go through? could that cause a drop? >> high likelihood that that will cause a drop. people need to understand the s&p 500 futures, which a lot of pros look at since they are the 24 hour version of the stock market, 3150, we could not breach 3150 last week. we are not able to breach 3150 today. that's kind of a psychological level, halfway between zero and 100. that is very important in traders' minds. so i'm actually calling a top, i'm not a negative guy, but i am calling a top at 3150 at least through the end of the year. i think the ecb could surprise the market and become much more hawkish which they have already talked about. jackie: we are looking at usmca as some positive news at least in terms of the strides being made on that front. possibly some positive n

jackie: it's about taking that uncertainty out of play.arket a position of strength to operate from. let me ask you this. when it comes to the president and his strategy, we did say -- we dealt with a lot this week. the democrats came out, announcing articles of impeachment, then the usmca. they gave something, then took something away. it looks like if it does in fact happen, the president sort of held back on this kind of like a crown jewel. >> i think the things the market cares about, they care about what the fed has to say, they care about china tariffs. i don't think the market cares at all about the impeachment noise. they are probably not even watching it on trading room floors. but they do care about the things that impact the economy going forward, and certainly putting some of this trade skirmish behind us is going to help the economy and an accommodative fed will help the economy. jackie: i know you don't have a crystal ball but we have definitely seen china come to the negotiating table before, be very close to making a deal,

jackie deangelis is in the newsroom with the details. jackie: good afternoon to you, that's right. this is really the latest in this harvey weinstein scandal. so he's awaiting trial here in new york next month on charges of rape and sexual assault. now, the lada now looking into these other eight cases against him. the d.a.'s office has received four cases from the lapd, another four from beverly hills. it's got to decide if it's going to file official charges on these cases. the d.a.'s office didn't give details, but it's been looking into these charges for a little under two years. two of the cases, however, were submitted just in the last couple of months. now, apparently the lada set up a task force to look into some of these allegations but there hasn't been prosecution because some of the claims fall outside of the statute of limitations, it's ten years for sex crimes. weinstein is also facing civil charges in addition to these criminal ones. some of this has fallen on to the weinstein company its insurers are agreed to pay a $25 million global settlement. we will wait to see

kpix 5's jackie ward is at uber's headquarters in san francisco with more. jackie?ng, michelle. uber will pay $4.4 million to its victims. this officially ends the two year investigation into sexual harassment claims here. the u.s. office of equal employment opportunity says that they, quote, did find reasonable cause to believe that uber permitted a culture of sexual harassment and retaliation against individuals and complained about such harassment, end quote. a claims administrator will reach out to those who worked at uber. the commission will then determine which may be eligible for a piece of the 4.4 million. uber agreed to create a system to identify serial offenders and managers who fail to respond to concerns about sexual harassment in a timely manner. this reached a head back in february of 2017 when this woman, former uber engineer suzanne fowler wrote a letter about being propositioned by a manager and stone walled by hr. that led to the ceo leaving his role and his departure from any role at uber. we have reached out to hear their reaction and have yet

kpix 5's jackie ward joining us live from city hall with more details. jackie?ty. if passed, this ordinance would extend eviction protections for more than 35,000 tenants who don't have them right now. this bill was written by supervisor matt haney. here evidence district 6 which includes the neighborhoods of the tenderloin and soma. landlords in san francisco have 16 so-called just reasons to evict their tenet. however, as it stands today, those protections only extend to renters whose units were built in june 1979 or before. in order to evict someone who lives in the unit built after 1979, the landlord essentially does not need a reason. the ordinance would change that by lifting the 1979 cutoff date, thereby protecting tens of thousands of renters who live in units built in the last four years. supervisor haney also says this bill will close what he called the leupolz of a bill weasley passed in the state level. it was written by ge rent increases. it does not help everyone. if approved, haney's ordinance would extend those protections. supervisor haney has s
