david chiu covers most of the central district and jane kim covers central street. central it's 48 percent female. agencies are 17 and under 5 percent and we have a large senior population of 15.14 percent so we have twice as many elderly then juveniles. we have 11 though 3 hundred and 50 over the age of 65. the district is asian 47 percent, calling your attention is 46 percent and african-american 2 percent. and others 1.3 percent and native american less than 3 percent. those are the central district and this is the central station demographic. we have 2 asian woman officers and male officer we have 26 asian and 5 african-american and 3 latino. now seniority we have 28 percent of our staff has left in 20 years and from 20 to thirty years of service is majority it's about 348 percent and 20 percent of our staff has thirty years and more. we have 9 officers of thirty years ever more and this officer james had 40 years and his daughter will graduate from the police academy this friday to continue on the legacy. central station is returned by the captain yours truly i

randy struggled with the challenges and all of us who worked in the nonprofit including supervisor jane kim we understand this transformation is crimping open to many levels. i worked on pi want to sweep the street to earn my reputation with them. i wasn't going to say i worked in n some office and dictate to them. i was go going to be proud with them. we spent a lot of time on taylor and others streets we have pride in our streets. we're going to be joining all our partners we didn't know what that was. but leroy and others saying we're going to use art and small businesses and we're going to use that spirit of loving the city and we're going to do that we didn't know what that meant but we had a feeling with the theatre and arts leadership and what we wanted to do in our hearts was going to make some change. this was fourteen years. including original jose because that's always brought us back down. that started a little bit of investments then i become city administrator and we were saying with the arts how can we take over those places and work with the residential hotels who oftentimes

[ applause ] >> the mayor said it but i think we have a ribbon cutting almost twice a day now in district 6. this is an exciting one. the first constructed fire station in san francisco since 1950. it's pretty amazing considering when the fact that the mayor brought up is the busiest station in san francisco. in my time at the distribution, unfortunately i got to know a lot about the fire department. we have had 13 working fires, several which were very significant and displaced or injured our residents. i learned how hard the fire department works, how important their speedy response is in terms of saving lives and of course our possessions but also how they build relationships with their constituents at a time of intense loss, anxiety and fear and they do it with a great deal of compassion and dignity. i think that's the most important aspect of the work they do on behalf of our city. it's truly incredible to have a department to be able to get that type of feedback from our constituents. it's great to welcome our fire department to district 6. yes, it
