nbc meteorologist janessa webb is here tracking all of that good morning >> hi. good morning severe weather going to be lingering for at least the next 48 hours for the central u.s. all the way into the northeast i do want to talk about the northeast first as right now the national weather service storm prediction is forecasting a slight risk of severeweather later on this afternoon into your early evening around dinner time you'll start to notice a change in the clouds and torrential rain. also the possibility of that flash flood flooding from boston all the way to d.c i do think by 8 a.m. update that it may go with an enhanced risk on the severe storms now for the sen trals here, a moderate risk. this is the highest risk of severe storms for this afternoon and this stays in place for tomorrow afternoon there's a potential of widespread tornadoes, long track tornadoes as well. torrential rain across kansas city and into the makes its way into the northeast this afternoon. philadelphia, 91 we'll talk more about this heat coming up. guys. >> we need to talk more a
