supervisors, i am janie white as i said. i'm the medical leave program manager with the city's department of human resources. the civil services commission and the department of human resources have worked on these amendments. we are here to request your approval on the amendments to the series 20 civil service rules for governing and employees. it alliance with the new california healthy workplace healthy family act that came effective july 21, 2015. the city will stream line it's leave management processes and reduce the burden of complying with multiple rules. it will grant sick leave to employees who have been exempt from an accruing sick leave at the regular rate. that will be a new accrual rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked for employees who are currently casual and seasonal laborers who do not accrue sick leave. it provides access to sick leave from six 6 months to the 90th day of employment and this is consistent with state law. the proposal expands the covered reasons for using sick leave to now include employ
