one minute 21 year old jaqulyn lopez was filling up her car at the sunoco, and the next both lopez and her vehicle were engulfed in flames and a standinger rushing to save her toddler's life. katherine scott talked to her family today with more on what happened. >> she was turning the cap in the car and the car and immediately hit her. >> relatives rushed after learning that jaqulyn lopez was hurt in a fire. she was at a pump at the sunoco at aramingo and somerset and another car crashed into it knocking the pump on its sides and a fire ignited. >> i heard the pump hit the ground hard. >> jaqulyn lopez was engulfed in fire. >> lopez's 3-year-old daughter was in the back seat and a passenger from another vehicle kicked through the window and pulled her to safety, escaping without injuries. >> we commend him for his heroism. and lopez works in customer service. she left work and picked up her daughter when she stopped to pump gas. and the crews were making repairs and the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and accident investigators were called. telling the police she accidental

family members identified the victim as 21-year-old jaqulyn lopez.he works in customer service and is a student. she was coming from school and picked up her daughter and was pumping gas when the accident happened. a car smashed into the pump and knocked it over and a fire started. she received serious burns to her hand and lower half of the body. she was rushed to the hospital and remains in intensive care. meanwhile, while the car was on fire, the passenger in the striking vehicle jumped out and kicked out the back window and pulled the little girl out to safety. the 3-year-old was in the injured. >> we're grateful he did that, we commend him for his heroism. i don't know if i would would have been able to do the same thing, i probably would have been in shock. >> back live in port richmond, the gas pumps are closed. the one pump still on its side. the driver of the striking vehicle told police she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the break and that was when she lurched into the gas pump. i did speak to investigators, they said it's too ea

the victim was identified as 21-year-old jaqulyn lopez coming from school picking up her 3-year-old daughter. she remains in the hospital with second and third degree burns, but is expected to survive. the 3-year-old daughter was not injured. the driver remained on the scene. it happened at a sunoco in port richmond at aramingo and somerset around 11:30 when lopez was pumping gas when another car smashed into the gas pump and knocked it after and then started a fire. there was a 3-year-old in the car that was hit, the daughter of lopez. the passenger of the other car was able to jump out and when that car was on fire smashed out the back window and pulled the 3-year-old baby from the vehicle. the baby escaped with no injuries. the mother, however, lopez sustained serious burns. she was rushed to the hospital. and we did speak with her aunt who said she rushed down from north jersey when she heard what happened. this is what she had to say about the rescue. >> the passenger that was in the drivers side, that was on the passenger side saved her 3-year-old daughter when the explosion happened.
