jean carroll. and the jury did believe the first person she told about what happened to her, her dear friend, lisa birnbach. joining us now for an exclusive interview tonight, lisa birnbach. she is e. jean carroll's friend, and as i said, testified in this trial. lisa, thank you very much for joining us tonight. i can only wonder what this has all been like for you, i'm going to begin with the moment we all went through today. and we all had some reaction to today. when we heard this verdict. where were you, and how did you hear this verdict? >> i was doing errands today, having thought we would not have a verdict today. lawrence, and thank you for having me. when i got a text from a lawyer saying, verdict in 15 minutes. and i hightailed it to my lawyer's office and i was in a conference room with the lawyers who helped me out. when i watched it on msnbc. >> and what did you feel when this verdict came back? >> i was terrified in the few minutes waiting for it. when i heard the first no, i panicked

jean carroll, right? >> it is important, and i know that paula reid has been covering this for us, and she has some color and details from inside of the courtroom as the verdict is read. what do we know? >> so, we have learned that the jury has just been dismiss and the judge has stepped down off of the bench. it is unclear if e. jean carroll or attorneys for former president trump will speak to the press outside of the courthouse. i would not be surprised if they did so. look, i was in court earlier listening to judge instruct this jury giving them explicit instructions of the task in front of them, and it took 90 minutes describe this and they dlibed less than two hours. in and out of the court, and watching jury, it is a diverse group of people on the panel, and they were extremely attentive to all of the witnesses as was e. jean carroll's attorneys trying to establish that her account was not only credible, but supported by the pattern of accounts of women who alleged similar accounts from president t
